Lucca Old Town Apartment

Ausgesprochen gute Lage im Stadtzentrum, wunderbare Dachterrasse, gut funktionierende Klimaanlage. Wir haben den Aufenthalt genossen, nachdem wir den anfänglichen Ärger über das fehlende Parken sowie das Verbot, mit dem ganzen Gepäck bis vor die Haustür zu fahren, überwunden hatten.

Die Beschreibung der Parkplatzsituation ist fast eine Unverschämtheit: Wörtlich: "Öffentliche Parkplätze stehen in der Nähe (Reservierung ist nicht erforderlich) zur Verfügung und sind möglicherweise gebührenpflichtig." Die nächst gelegene kostenfreie Parkmöglichkeit ist mehr als 10 Minuten zu Fuß entfernt. Die nächstgelegene gebührenpflichtige fünf Minuten, Gebühr 1,50 € pro Stunde. Die Auskünfte des Vermieters zur Parksituation waren nicht (!) hilfreich. Wir hatten viel Gepäck, da wir bereits längere Zeit unterwegs waren und ein Baby dabei war.

The apartment is situated in a quiet square about three minutes' walk from Piazza dell'Anfiteatro. The apartment was large with three generous bedrooms (one of which has only skylight windows) and all the beds were very comfortable. There is only one bathroom but this worked OK for our group of six people. The kitchen had everything we needed and there was a large dining table. The jewel in the crown was the roof terrace. There was plenty of room and seating for six people and there are fabulous views of all the towers in Lucca. We spent every evening on the terrace enjoying spritzes and wine! There are two flights of stairs up to the apartment which anyone with mobility issues may find challenging. The hosts were very easy and pleasant to communicate with and helped make this an enjoyable stay. I will definitely stay here again next time I am in Lucca.

Great location inside the city walls and a lovely space to spend time in and chill. The roof terrace was a favourite spot for a pre dinner drink too. Really good communications from the owner too
