The apartment location. The bedrooms and bathrooms were good. The unit Is "charming & eclectic."
The property says "free parking." This is only true if you are willing to walk at least a mile. Yes, host was cooperative in meeting us to drive us to the property. However, it was 1.1 miles that had to be walked in the morning to where car was parked. In my opinion, this does not qualify as "free parking." If I had not been traveling with my daughter, the walk to the car location toting luggage would not have been possible. Personally, I do not agree with property stating "free parking" under these conditions. We had an early flight. For my daughter to walk 25+ minutes to the "free" parking the host had found us & then return to the apartment involved a full hour; plus the time to then get out of the walled town. Not even remotely pleasant experience. As to the apartment itself, the "kitchenette" very basic. And, as it happened, the espresso machine barely put out lukewarm results - totally not nice in the least. Perhaps a small issue; but, in fact, rather important for those who like HOT morning coffee. The issue of the parking was a total "downer" for what would have otherwise been a nice stay.

Francesco was an amazing host. He assisted with transporting our luggage to the apartment. He provided information on where to eat and what to see. The apartment, centrally located in the centre of the old town, was absolutely stunning and the views from the apartment were stunning.

The location is ideal for exploring the walled city. With two very updated bathrooms it was ideal for our group of four. But what was truly outstanding was the great communications from Francesco the owner of apartment. In addition, when we arrived he met us at free parking and led us to the free parking right by apartment to unload all of our luggage. Then he led us back to park our car at the free parking and then drove us back to the apartment. Lucca is a labyrinth of small twisting streets and it was so helpful for Francesco to help us navigate. He also gave us links to attractions and best place to rent bikes to ride around the city walls.
That we couldn’t stay longer!
