Bajo Bunkhouse

Had a brilliant stay at Bajo Bunkhouse. Nice chill hostel, good location just a short walk into centre of town and right next to a great cafe. Staff were friendly and helpful. Handy you can leave your stuff when doing tours! Highly recommend.

The location is good: I mean, the town is very small, but anyway you can walk both to the airport and to the city harbour in just few minutes. The place is very clean, the toilets are in good number and the showers have warm water. Each bed has a small locker assigned and thick privacy curtains that create darkness to sleep. Both aircon and Wi-Fi were working well. What deserves a really good note is the behaviour of the hotelier: she was kind and professional. The hostel offers also tours (and as a suggestion: send the offers immediately as an automatic message) and I joined the tour to Komodo, which was very beautiful. Months before my arrival, the hotelier contacted the tour agent to find out the itinerary details and if there was a later departure and she made the reservation for me for the last departure available. Therefore I arrived there relaxed with everything already fixed and organized since months and I could enjoy my stay without hassles. It is possible to pay for the night through Booking.com and by card at the harbour for the tour.

There is a female-only dorm, but there is no male-only dorm. The fridge upstairs was not working. There is no place upstairs where to hang to dry the clothes after you return from snorkelling in Komodo. These are the only things to fix.

For the price, the location is quite decent. Semi-social hostel to meet others.

The A/C in bedroom should be colder. There needs to be fans in the common area. That would make it SO much better! The beds are OK but not the comfiest. The hand soap and shower soap are watered down… Very cheap. The pictures make it look more clean and nice than it actually is. The property needs some TLC.
