Central Cosy Cottage.

We liked the location of the property - so close to the main town and attractions. TV and WiFi were excellent. The mattress was really comfortable. The cottage was warm and cosy and the heating was very effective.

Other reviewers have mentioned that the bathroom door does not close and the shower is difficult to turn on and off. Sadly these issues remain a problem. The busy (and fast) road outside the property is a potential hazard for those with dogs and small children. We would have found it helpful to have had welcome pack with instructions on how to work appliances like the heating and fire and with the WiFi code.

We booked this property so we could take a trip down to the millennium walkway which was perfect distance from there. Lo

It felt like a home away from home. Lovely area. Great facilities. I would definitely stay again. Everywhere was clean and tidy. Cosy. Comfy beds. Lots of space. Clear instructions for people coming with pets and for the key usage.

The bed in the bedroom was very creaky. Every time I moved it made quite a loud noise but the actual bed itself was really comfy! The bathroom door was not attached so it couldn’t be closed. That didn’t bother us personally but for others this may.

Disappointed I didnt know the flaws before I booked.

The house was clean and well presented.

It is on a busy road and wasnt told until after payment that the “free parking” was up a steep hill as double yellow lines outside house. Should have looked further down reviews to see this information but not appropriate for less mobile visitors. As others have said, also not spotted sadly, the double bed is uncomfortable with a metal bar running round the edge which you need to launch yourself over to not catch on your legs. Again had problems with the shower and the toilet seat.

Perfect for students, fine for overnighters.

The house was well proportioned and clean. The TV was excellent! Everything was easy to get at and use.

It was right by a busy, fast paced road, hard to even park to get things out of the car, noisy to be in. It was clean but not cosy, very grey, black and white with not a rug in sight.. absolutely fantastic for a group of male students to live in who don't feel the need for comfort and decoration.

Only a short two night stay with easy access to the Peaks for walking.

Really good apart from the bathroom.

Very clean and spacious. Great TV and appearance of the rooms - Really pleased with this. Very modern feel. Enjoyed being here and would come again. Very near to the Millennium Bridge and train station. Overall - very good!

Difficult to park - especially at night. The road is very busy. Would consider coming on the train next time. Bathroom facilities need some basic maintenance. Shower plug needs unblocking - nearly overflowed! Shower on and off turner needs looking at - difficult to turn. Toilet roll holder needs fixing. Toilet seat needs fixing. Apart from this - all good!

Cosy family accommodation in an unusual location.

Excellent facilities and very comfortable space for a family. On the side of a fairly busy road, but was quiet inside during our stay. Wonderful views out the back of the property over to the bridge.

Parking is a bit of an issue, but we found space at the top of the hill a few minutes walk away.

Location was fantastic, shame there’s no parking but there are side streets not too far away.

The beds weren’t that comfortable to be honest and the shower was hard to turn off

Good location, clean and tidy space but didn’t meet our expectations.

Location was good for our visit with family in the area and within walking distance to the train station.

We found the bed to be uncomfortable and awkward with a large metal bar running along the edge of the mattress. Wifi was advertised but there was no information on how to connect and query received no response. The stairs to the bedroom are very narrow and steep so we were unable to get our luggage up in a safe way. I would suggest that potential visitors be made aware in case of mobility issues. I would also not feel safe with young children going up and down the stairs.

Not a thing wrong, genuinely a really great place.

Everything in this cottage was absolutely perfect. Couldn’t have been any better, super helpful tenant incredible location and a lovely home. Right inside a small village with a nice variety of shops, cafes and pubs. Only a 30 minute drive from Manchester City.

Overall the property was comfortable.

Property was clean and comfortable.

Had an issue with a leaking shower. Had to allow tradesman and neighbor's access to the property during the evening. Emailed owner for the possibility of some compensation. Was offered another night at a reduced price however as we were traveling this was not an option. Was looking for some kind of refund possibly however this was not offered.

Facilities were good, was a nice place to stay but need slights improvements.

Spacious rooms, cosy setting.

I didint like the fact that on the advertisement stated “ free parking “ which I assumed would be outside of the cottage (I.e drive way)I had to drive nearly 10 minutes away. Also wasn’t pleased with The shower knob, it was stiff to turn the shower on & The four posted bed was very noisy, every time I turned in bed it would make a rattling sound.

Cottage really good, for our 1 night stay to attend a wedding ceremony at Torr Vale mill. Although we did not need to use, there is plenty of spares, bedding, cleaning products, etc.

No parking at the cottage, double yellow lines on both sides of the roadway.

We wouldn’t go back but the kitchen was nice

The shower was nice

It smelt of damp when we walked in, seemed to be the living room that was the issue so we spent the evening in the kitchen with the door closed. There is no parking associated with the property even though it advertises as having parking. (There is free parking up some very steep side streets a walk away.) The staircase that goes up from the kitchen has no side rail or bannister so is open to the kitchen all the way to the top. I’m surprised it’s legal, the stairs are incredibly steep and not flat and has loose carpet fitted. The main bed was very uncomfortable and seemed to move a lot. The whole house needs a good clean, there was cobwebs and spiders everywhere.

The accommodation provided just what we needed for our short visit to new mills

I loved the location and the whole house was very spacious. The bed was extremely comfortable.

I didn’t like the fact there was a cellar and loft access in one of the bedrooms but maybe that’s just me watching to many horror movies!

Central stay in a lovely little town.

House is next to the train station and around the corner from multiple cafes and restaurants. Location is fantastic in a very cute town. We could see the millenium walkway from the kitchen window. Check in is easy with a lockbox key and house is clean and warm. Host is very responsive to messages if anything is needed.

We had issues with the shower as it would not turn off without a fight. It seemed like something was missing from the mixer part. Jono responded to our message quickly and came the next morning to see if he could fix it for us. Note to people with bad backs, the beds are soft so that can cause issues.

Great location, better suited to couples or families with older children.

Beautiful cottage in an excellent location very close to the train station, Torr Mill and the Millennium walkway. Easy parking on the side street opposite, although a steep walk up. Fantastic children's play park very close by and a short walk to the town centre. Very clean and tidy. Easy access using the key safe. Very kind of the owner to leave essentials like tea and coffee.

The stairs were too steep and narrow and partly open to the kitchen. We had our daughter and her 9 month old twins with us, and they all ended up sleeping downstairs as the stairs were too steep to carry them up and down. The bed in the master bedroom was a four-poster bed with the mattress sitting in a metal frame. Unfortunately, every time we tried to get in or out of bed, the mattress would sink below the metal bar, making this very difficult . I would say this property is probably better suited for families with older children.

Very uncomfortable mattress in main double room-needs replacing -very soft and difficult to get into/out of via the metal frame..also rickety 4 poster frame.. No bedside lamps-LED ones didn’t work No lamp in bunk room-also rickety frame. Not enough kitchen utensils/crockery-only one wine glass/3 spoons/etc-needs a good re stock to include basic cooking items such as wooden spoons/salad bowl/6 of everything rather than 4(a big crack in one main dinner plates)cafetière would also be great addition. Property on very busy main road-no parking -load/unloading difficult and parking some distance away.would not recommend if you have small children …

Great location. Lovely little cottage. Decorated really well and perfect for holiday stay.

Below expectations

The location is good. But mainly for the views and walks. And value wise, it was cheap and cheerful. A good stay if you intend on travelling on a budget!

Unfortunately, the upstairs bedroom and bathroom floors weren't clean. Resulting in dirty feet before getting into bed. And there was quite clearly a dog or cat who stayed previously, as there were white hairs everywhere upstairs. Very basic cutlery, only two big glass cups. No milk or sugar provided either, which was a first for us, and we've stayed in over 20+ apartments, houses, etc... If you're 6ft plus, you'll struggle with the toilet. It's a tight fit! The main double bed is incredibly uncomfortable. All personal preference of course, but it was too soft, and you sink into the bed and feel the springs. Lastly, the parking! There is NO on site free parking, so you need to venture round the other roads to find a parking spot.

Shower leaked. Could of been cleaner. Maybe a staircase. Partner slept in bottom bunk. I slept in double with youngest daughter, incase she got out at night and fell down the stairs.

Would definitely stay again

Fantastic location, great views of the valley and hills at the back and the millennium walkway is literally on the doorstep. Town is a very short stroll away. The property was clean and well furnished with comfy beds. The kitchen had everything we needed. Jono responded quickly to questions (even with it being Xmas eve) and was friendly and helpful. We really enjoyed our stay. Thank you.

There is no parking outside the property but we parked just up the road and it was fine.

Prachtige ongeving

Het huisje was superschoon! Er zijn veel activiteiten te vinden in de omgeving van de cottage. Vaatwasser en televisie werkten goed. De bedden waren helaas veel minder. Mijn kind had last van de springveren in het matras. We vonden het niet erg dat we onverwachts eerder naar huis moesten.

Vreemd dat de code van de sleutelkluis niet klopte.
