Over Torrs Cottage

The property was very clean and is a suitable size for up to 2 people in my view. The kitchen was well stocked with the necessities, utensils etc. The bathroom was stocked with shower gel and shampoo plus plenty of towels. The bed mattress was extremely comfortable even though it was softer than I normally prefer. I slept like the proverbial log. The closeness to the Torrs footpaths was extremely useful for myself and my four legged friend.

I fully appreciate that this is a solid, through terrace style cottage that has been here for many a year, built when the main traffic would have been horse and cart. The front of the property is approximately 8 feet from the road which can be a little bit stressful when walking your dog. The road has enough traffic but is not overly busy, and surprisingly quieter than expected on an evening. Inside the property, the stairs are steeper than normal with the treads being more shallow than most would be used to. There are also a few cracks in the bathroom tiled floor and the flooring in the main bedroom needs a small amount of maintenance.

Clean and friendly, comfortable, well equipped, Everything we needed, shops, pharmacies, was easily accessible.

There was no such thing.

We liked the location of the property - so close to the main town and attractions. TV and WiFi were excellent. The mattress was really comfortable. The cottage was warm and cosy and the heating was very effective.

Other reviewers have mentioned that the bathroom door does not close and the shower is difficult to turn on and off. Sadly these issues remain a problem. The busy (and fast) road outside the property is a potential hazard for those with dogs and small children. We would have found it helpful to have had welcome pack with instructions on how to work appliances like the heating and fire and with the WiFi code.
