Host & Stay - Batemill Cottage

Lovely location, really quiet and easy to park our 2 cars. Pretty row of mill cottages with a lovely stream opposite. Cute little cottage, very homely and suited our multi generational stay to visit our family in nearby Poynton really well. Could have done with two sofas the same size as with 4 adults we needed to fight for the good sofa. Mainly Ikea kitted out so we found it good & functional. Nice place to relax with our dog too as very dog friendly.

The property had a fenced garden which was great for dogs & children but the fences were damaged so the holes meant our little dog could have got out had he chosen to. He was well behaved and didn’t. The garden lets the cottage down & needs attention as it’s not in good condition; the grass was very badly cut so not ideal for our busy 2 yr old as very lumpy and rough but he’s a country kid so didn’t mind at all - but at least there is a garden. The bathroom is very small, too snug for a family of 5 occupancy if it hadn’t have been just for 2 nights. Only one hand towel between all 5 of us was an issue but we did have 2 bath sheets between 4 adults as the bath towels in the bunk room were too small for adults. The top room didn’t get used as too hot & very steep steps. I need to take bigger mugs with me I’ve decided as they were a bit small. Watch the lounge floor, there’s screws holding the laminate so don’t go barefoot and watch tiny toes! I could have done with some basic welcome info about the cottage in general at the property about bins, recycling etc instead of always logging into the info via booking.com ( old fashioned I know! )

Good location, near to the Sett Valley Trail. There's a lot of condiments and spices so no need to buy your own. Cute cottage with all the necessities.

One of the bedrooms has a sofa bed, which you need to get the balance right, otherwise it folds while you're laying on it.

Lovely location. Every kitchen appliance you could want for. Washer/dryer a bonus.

Cucumber frozen to back of the fridge, mouldy spatula in the knife drawer. As mentioned in a review on the 25th May the WiFi password page is missing from the welcome pack so had to go through the PDF. Two lockboxes with same code and no label confusing on arrival.
