Eastgate Rows Apartments

We had the attic apartment and really loved the layout, facilities, and amazing views. The bed is big and comfortable and really enjoyed the relaxing calm. We never used the kitchen, but it was adequately equipped and ideal for a longer stay. The location was everything as you are right on the rows, the historical centre of Chester, with everything you need. Whilst you don't see your host, communication was excellent and will definitely consider next time we are visiting family.

The decor and cleanliness were excellent. The central location was perfect for our needs.

I couldn’t fault the property as such but the customer service was poor. I paid for the VIP package, was advised to ignore messages that might come through telling me that I couldn’t check in until 3. Having paid for a 1:30 check in, I had to wait until 2:30 before getting a check in update telling me the door codes. Having paid for wine, there was none on arrival. I messaged the WhatsApp number and the response was underwhelming. There was no effort made to rectify the situation. A refund was offered but that isn’t fixing the situation in my opinion, that just telling me, the customer “hard luck”. The person at the other end of the phone was at best unprofessional and at worst, rude. Short, monosyllabic responses and no expression of apology for the service I paid for being provided… until I suggested that an apology would have been appropriate. To which I received a borderline sarcastic “I’m sorry”. Often you will read how nothing is too much trouble for the people that look after a rented property. In this case it felt as if everything was too much trouble. Such a shame as the apartment was really cool.
