Luxury Apartment Barranco Malecon

Wonderful apartment with well-equipped kitchen, lots of space and great washing machine. The beds were a bit soft for our liking, but others might find that works perfect for them. The apartment had a lot of closet space, and we could easily fit all our motorcycle gear and luggage. The parking space is specific to the apartment and is right across the street from the 24h police station so it is very safe! Our motorcycles stood there all week and nothing happened to them. The area is very safe in general, with lots of restaurants and shops on walking distance. The local Metro grocery store has almost everything and PlazaVea is not far away if you need it. It was really easy to get taxis and ubers from right outside the apartment so you don't have to walk far if you don't want to. The traffic in this area is pretty relaxed and quiet, for Lima. We arrived on our motorcycles from the south and only got stuck in manageable traffic. When we left however, we had to go north and it took us 1.5h to get out of the city due to various accidents along the Panamerican, but that is normal in Lima. The apartment has windows to three sides of the building so it was easy to keep it cool and there was a lot of light all day in the kitchen and living room areas.

The space outside the window where you are supposed to hang your laundry is quite dirty. The owner has used a fabric rope instead of regular laundry line so it sucks up dirt. No matter how much I tried to clean it the rags came out grey so we couldn't use it. Luckily, there were lots of hangers we could use to dry the laundry indoors instead. Some of the windows open outward but do not have any hooks to keep them from moving in the wind when they are open. The wind smashed them shut sometimes, and it felt like they would break, but the apartment got too hot without the windows open.
