The cottage is cozy but it is a bit more run down than the photos show. When we got there there was mouse droppings everywhere, over all the cutlery, stove, piles in the living room couch and carpet…way more than seemed possible if the places had been cleaned in the last 5 days (we cleaned it all when we arrived and didn’t see any new droppings over the next 2 days). We understand this is a cottage and mice are around but the piles in the kitchen drawers were shocking.
The fireplace in the living room wasn’t working and the remotes had dead batteries to begin with. The stairs leading to the back deck are coming apart and we had a fall when they ripped.
This cottage is cozy for what it is but I would hope that the owners put some more work into the place before renting it out again - or at least a DEEP clean!

We had a nice time at the cottage, was clean and tidy when we got there and left it in great condition when we left. The door handle was broken and needed a new screw so we were able to get it fixed
