Colombo Mall Room

Location was nice, we needed that to leave Portugal the next day. NOTE : this is a room in someone's appartement. A real, local, living person. Act accordingly. This is NOT a hotel, and if that's the experience you want, you should not rent the room there. We didn't meet the host, as we got in late and left very early. We communicated by message. He or she was very nice, polite, and answered every question we had. They allowed me to leave my shampoo with them to not have to pack it in the airplane, and were accommodating. The little terrasse giving on the streets was very nice, I was very happy to hear what an actual Portuguese neighborhood sounds like. There is a school in from of the building, and you can hear the kids play, and see them from the small terrasse, I loved it. We sat there with a snack and a beer, and watched life unfolds with the locals. We had trouble with the key downstairs and a local helped us with it, said his key was actually worse than that, we all laughed and had a good time. The bed was standard, not plush, not awful, everything was clean. Not hotel sanitized. Clean. This is a living space, it's lived in. Expect it to be as clean as your friends house when you sleep over. Livable. Not sterile.

The parking was.... Yeah. We got lucky and got a spot close, but it was so lucky we didn't move the car after that. My partner is French, we are used to park in spaces that are like... within an inch of the bumpers both front and back, but if you aren't comfortable with that, consider public transport. Also : that little table was very shaky lol, we made it work, but it could use some repairs. In the end tho, it didn't really matter. My beer stayed upright, that was the most important.
