We enjoyed our stay in St Paul de Vence. The apartment itself is on the narrow main street, and like most rentals it has its plusses and minuses. It’s brilliantly located, but it’s not particularly equipped for a long stay, or one where you are planning to stay in during the evenings or use the kitchen extensively. It’s definitely ‘compact’, with little storage space, and we didn’t find the living area or beds particularly comfortable. Nor does it have any views, which is a shame given its location. To put that in context, we stayed 8 x nights, which was probably too long - it’s better geared, in our opinion, for a shorter stay, in order to enjoy an evening or two on the village. It would also help to travel light as well, as manoeuvring luggage etc from car park to apartment and back again isn’t recommended. As for car parking, it’s certainly fun as long as you’re not of faint-heart as you negotiate some very narrow ‘roads’ to finally reach the car park. We managed without mishap, but it’s daunting the first time! The communications with the rental agency were first rate, so thanks to Emil, who was exceptionally responsive, helpful and attentive from the off Restaurant wise, Le Tilleul was our favourite - we went twice, a there was nothing to beat it. Early booking is a good idea.We overall had an enjoyable stay, and hopefully our feedback will help other visitors on the future.

Excellent location. The property didn't quite match the vrbo description. It claims to offer 'two beautifully equipped bathrooms’ but only one has a toilet. Also, one of the showers has half the door panel missing and the other hanging loose. Of course, having a shower without a door meant the floor could get slippy. The fan didn't work in the other shower room. It also had mould around the fan and it looked as if the flooring was wearing away. Very little space to store luggage contents with a single wardrobe and bedside cabinets all you could use.Living space was dark and dominated by bulky furniture, including a large locked sideboard, that made it difficult to move around the space. No TV. There was an old laptop and a DVD player which is not an adequate substitute for a group.Eating in was a challenge as there were two very small circular tables joined together - not big enough to accommodate dinning plates and cutlery. The kitchen was very tired. Along with the fridge light, five of the six countertop downlighters didn't work. The fridge itself was not working properly. There was no air circulation, causing fridge contents to smell, and the thermo needed to be turned to max to chill anything. We contacted the agent who in turn contacted the owner but nothing was done during our stay. You don't find out about the quirky electrics (which include you having to control apartment lights from the bedroom) until you are about to arrive at the property.
