We loved the layout of the room, the whirlpool tub and the 1920s fixtures.
The bed was too soft, the bowling bothered us more than we thought it would, especially on Friday night.

Overall the facility itself was great. The room was clean and the few staff we encountered were nice.
Parking was accessible, but not that easy to find a close spot since we arrived saturday early evening and street parking was full. The Goodwill lot was available, and only a short walk. The location is nice from a walking distance perspective, but the hotel building is located on a pretty busy corner so you could hear passing cars and people on the streets at all hours of the night. Not a deal breaker for us, and we would stay again if we were attending another event in the area.

Location location location!!!
Our windows were glass blocks and it felt a little weird to not be able to see outside. I didn’t like that. But not all rooms are like that. I would request a room I could see out of next time.

Beautiful building, clean and spacious room. Friendly and helpful staff.
Bowling alley upstairs and bar below. I was in town for the marathon so needed to be up early for it. Noise level was not bad but I would note it for early risers. Great location for those looking to participate in the nightlife however. I would recommend it in that case.

This place may not be everyone’s cup of tea but this converted 100 year old office building has it’s charms. If you’re the sort that wouldn’t mind a hotel room with a bowling alley one floor up, check it out.
Beds were a bit soft.

The location was perfect for Fountain Square. Also, the rooms have been updated and are now so wonderfully decorated.
For check-in, I had to pick up the room key from a bowling alley in the same building. It wasn't a problem but was unexpected.

The location for attending concerts at Hi-Fi is perfect. There’s plenty to eat and do. The room was immaculate and perfect for my family. Even though outside was loud until midnight (on a Saturday) we expected this and weren’t surprised.
It’s a little confusing checking in and getting to your room and the elevator is a tiny bit sketchy. The rooftop bartenders were a little standoffish.

It was very quaint. The size was nice and large. They kept a lot of the uniqueness that many hotels get rid of.

Old school stylins with modern amenities.
The bathroom door wouldn't latch closed.

Location. Location. Location. Right in the heart of things and that was nice - didn't have to drive the car all weekend! and were right across the street from the HiFi.
did not realize we were getting a stand-up shower only. would have preferred a bathtub or garden tub. I don't believe our reservation showed we were only getting a single/standing room only shower!

Loved it. I could live in this room! I love the old timey vibe in the whole building. Felt like I was in a time machine till we arrived inside the refurbished room.
Pillows could use an update but in no way a deal breaker. Parking wasn’t the most convenient but it was expected with the location

Nothing!
Well if you value you and your familys life any you will not take them hear..10 minutes after it got dark the crime got so bad we couldnt leave the hotel to even get food..there was a man chasing people with a gun.. prostitution right below our window, people doing drugs on the street in the open watched a man get beat almost to death and had to lay in the floor of our hotel because gunshots were going off.. we did not even sleep in our hotel out of fear. We waited until sunrise when it was at least halfway safe and quickly got to our car and went back home the absolute worst hotel experience I’ve ever experienced in my entire life and I have been all over the United States and Europe

I really loved this place. It was a little odd at first. We arrived about 11pm and the street was packed with lots of happy people for the Friday night Swing Dance on the top floor of the building. I needed a place to park, someone pulled out. Good. But, where to go? The sign is small. The entrance is tight. And we saw that the 4th floor had bowling! But, we reached the manager, and she and another woman came to help us unload our car from a very long day drive. After we got a tutorial on how the elevator is private for the lodging guests, we went up to the room. It was so cute. And in the morning I checked out other rooms and it seems each is different. They are all decorated in an awesome way.
It took a while to get used to using a special key for the elevator.

I loved everything about this place!

We only encountered one employee, but he was friendly and helpful about directions for operating the elevator, etc. The building is very old but has a ton of charm/character. Having a sitting room was nice and the efficiency kitchen was lovely.
The mattress needs replacing in 308. The sitting room didn’t have AC, and I felt cranking the units in the other rooms to make up for it, but that’s minor. The biggest concern for me was the loudness of the street. Not the facility’s fault, but my God, it was so loud outside til at least 3, and then there were people scream-laughing again at 6 am. Again, not the facility’s fault, but I could have used a warning about the street noise. A similarly located hotel I’ve stayed in before literally provided ear plugs. That might be an idea.

Charming suite in an old historic building. Great neighborhood and very close to our concert venue

An old building with an interesting history with a bowling alley and roof top bar. The bar was not open during our visit in June due to weather.
The neighborhood, obviously going through the process of regentrification. There was a large crowd playing EXTREMELY loud music on the street right outside our window at 1:30 in the morning. It went on for at least an hour. We were FREAKED and did not feel safe. It took another hour to calm down and get back to sleep. Clearly there is no security on the premises. Response from the manager after I sent them a video addressing my extreme concern….”I'm sorry, I was not in the day you checked out. I know it can get a little wild but that was out of hand. I will speak with our owner to see if there can be anything put in place to curb that kind of rowdiness. Thank you for the video, I appreciate it. Again, my apologies for their bad behavior. …. I'm hoping the windows can get some kind of better insulation for noise reduction “ Their solution for my request for a refund was a $50 credit off of my $497 invoice.

Unique historic building in the heart of a great Indy neighborhood. HiFi Lounge music venue just across the street. Great surrounding restaurants and a secret speakeasy downstairs with wonderful cocktails. Easy street parking. Even tried the duckpin bowling alley upstairs. Rooftop bar has a great view.
There was a slight rumble from the duckpin bowling lanes directly above at certain times. Sounded kind of like distant thunder. Quickly fades into the background once you know what it is. Our room was a couple floors above the street-level bar which has outside tables. Jovial bar guests could be overheard at points.

I liked the room and cleanliness. The safety of the facility was also nice, having keys to function the elevator so only guests are allowed after hours.
The NOISE. The noise from the patrons of the club across the street, the people lingering around right below the window laughing loudly all night, the endless motorcycles, loud cars, and bass pounding car stereos. This went on until after 4am, when I finally decided to just leave 5 hours earlier than planned because I had slept a total of 25 minutes due to the noise, and drive 3 hours home on zero sleep.

A very nice historic property in the heart of Fountain Square! We had the King Studio which was gigantic for a hotel room, the bathroom alone was bigger than most properties I've stayed in while visiting NYC. We enjoyed all of the historical details from the old elevators to the two duckpin bowling alleys in the building (sadly both were closed for the evening we were there). There are plenty of fun options in the building and if we had had more time in Indy, we would have enjoyed the rooftop and street side bar - we'll save all of the above for next time.
Some street noise coming from the bar a few floors down but that didn't really affect our positive experience.

Everything was very nice especially the personal service from the manager. Only reason the value was checked down it was Indianapolis 500 weekend so things were just higher. Highly recommend this hotel
Nothing. It was great

Parking wasn’t on site but easy enough to get free parking nearby. Room was very nice, clean and comfortable. Bed was very comfortable.
Little noise from the bowling and the bar downstairs stays open late so could be noisy.

Great communication. Due to weather, we ended up arriving later than planned. Didn’t seem to be a problem. Following the instructions that were given to us. We found a very clean and comfortable space with a large bathroom cute kitchenette.
The bowling alley upstairs didn’t bother us. They stopped playing at 10:30 during the weekdays and midnight on the weekends.
It was such a great area to stay in. The building itself had so much to offer. Bar downstairs rooftop bar upstairs and the bowling alley. We did it all!

Large suites ..retro older. Good a/c, caveat, bowling alley one floor above would have been nice to know this in booking and not after as well as no front desk..but did not need but also was not informed of this until final payment of booking which both are a little misleading ..this should be clearly outlined in booking
