Le Gutenberg - Joli T2 dans le Carré d'Or

Very present hosts

jeg var nær kommet til skade da jeg åbnede vinduet - fordi det var i stykker og faldt ud - jeg greb det i sidste øjeblik - det kunne være faldet ned på gågaden fra 3 sal - med risiko for en ubehagelig ulykke

The five flights of stairs were a challenge

The apartment is located in the historic center of Strasbourg, close to the cathedral. The kitchen and bathroom have been updated, but there is virtually no decor, making the apartment starkly utilitarian. We didn't mind climbing the three flights of stairs to the apartment. It is a nice apartment --- provided everything is working as promised. Additionally, the cleaning crew left an unsightly mess of equipment in the kitchen/living area.

The problem with a corporation-managed apartment is the lack of local accountability. We encountered a problem upon entering the apartment and immediately emailed. A local employee was unable to solve the problem and promised someone would get back to us the next day. No one ever did and the problem was never resolved during our stay. Had this been a smaller, local company perhaps they could have done something. With this being a huge corporation, managing rentals in sixteen cities, the local staff has limited or no autonomy.
