(Award winning traditional Irish cottage)Enjoy a warm welcome to my cozy Cottage filled with light and space stove fireplace spacious modern self catering cottage free private car park. garden with river view undisturbed full run of cottage peaceful and tranquil bring your pet along they are allowed .private garden stream runs parallel to the cottage. In much sought after area with no anti social behaviour peaceful and well respected five minutes to equestrian centre two minutes to dog track five minutes to Mullingar arts centre five minutes to Mullingar town centre with an array of shops/ bars and restaurants everything can be accessed on foot because of its close proximity to everything footpath all the way to town.

We took an extended trip to Ireland and wanting to see multiple parts of the country opted to stay in the midlands. My husband found this listing on VRBO and we booked it. Best decision of the trip. This is a lovely home with a location that made it convenient to visit several other counties in the country. Everything we needed for a comfortable stay was present, including some food items stocked upon our arrival which meant we didn’t have to go right out and shop. That wasn’t expected but much appreciated. The home has a washer/dryer and dishwasher. Several coffeemakers and a kettle. There is also a river where the name comes from to lull you to sleep at night. It took us no time at all to settle in. The homeowner maintained an outstanding level of communication and was quick with replys to help us with cultural confusion (we are American and needed some explanation for things like eir codes lol). I was sad to see our time in Mullingar end but if we return I wouldn’t hesitate to book Riven cottage. Not only is it a warm and welcoming property with a great owner but it’s within walking distance of downtown making shopping and days out convenient. I cannot recommend this listing enough.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the cottage. Noeleen was quick to respond to any questions and we were very comfortable during our short stay in Mullingar.
