The location and spacious layout of the lovely house made this an amazing place for a quiet and relaxing stay in the countryside, while using it as a base for visiting Usa Oita and the Kunisaki Penninsula. The central living space has a gorgeous panoramic view of farmland framed by the mountains. One could chill there forever.
As an improvement it would be better for the daytime check in instructions, which mentions going to the nearby roadside station, to explicitly mention that one should approach the station staff member there directly. That station is a retail shop with a parking area with various people waiting around, so it wasn't immediately clear who should be approached.
