The room was big, everything was clean and it was close to many things in Beppu. The breakfast and dinner were plenty and great!
The drive up to the hotel was on a narrow road that was fine for me, but I’m certain would have a hard time driving this road.

The room was fantastic, the onsen was awesome and the food was top notch.
Only complaint was that the pillows were very hard.

I don't even know where to start! - This was the most incredible room! We booked the Western-Style Room with Tatami Area with Indoor Bath and Open-Air bath. It was the best decision ever!!! The actual room was just beautiful. Everything about it! Amazing view. Top quality skin care packages in the gorgeous bathroom. The indoor and outdoor Onsen's were incredible after lots of walking during the day. The complex has a laundry. The Chefs and the meals were delicious. But the most important thing is the staff - the entire team. Nothing was too much of a bother. They were all friendly, helpful, professional and caring - even with our very limited amount of Japanese. The communication via email before and after was excellent. We loved Beppu - it was our favourite place to visit and a big part of that was because of the staff at Kannawaen! We would stay here again and again and again!
