Lovely stay with my sisters at The Dreamland Villa

Don’t be fooled by the photos, this villa is overpriced, poorly maintained, and unhygienic.

The pictures looked really good and promising!

I’ve never left a negative review on any of my previous holidays. That’s not like me, and it doesn’t fit my character, but I do want to warn other travelers. We’ve stayed in villas across Bali for three weeks, Canggu, Ubud, Gili, and now Uluwatu. Unfortunately, this villa is not clean, see photos, it smells damp and musty, the air conditioning doesn’t work properly, and the daily cleaning is not done well. In the photos it looks amazing, but in reality it doesn’t match at all, a lot of things feel unhygienic or simply don’t work. On top of that, they washed our clothes at 90°C, which caused them to shrink so much we had to throw items away. We’ve had our laundry done at other villas without any issues. We also don’t receive fresh towels daily, and the towels we do get are sometimes dirty and stained. They also don’t check or restock toilet paper. Other issues, there was no mosquito spray and no diffuser or room scent, so we got bitten often. The Wi Fi also often doesn’t work. All in all, a very poor experience for the price and quality, especially in Bali.

The villa’s layout and floor plan were amazing. The pool area was spacious and the ideal size and depth for a comfortable swim. The decor was beautiful and the two separate bedrooms made it a very comfortable and convenient stay.

One of the bathrooms was unfortunately non-functional. The shower head sprayed water in all directions, and the toilet remained clogged for our entire stay, even after housekeeping visits. Housekeeping also came across as dismissive and seemed to make fun of us when we requested help. There were construction workers constantly outside our door smoking, which affected the sense of privacy when entering or exiting the villa.

Beautiful villa, luxurious and well-equipped

This villa is stunning and gorgeously outfitted with beautiful interior design and landscaping. The manager Ketut was so helpful and accommodating. The rooms are comfortable and well-stocked with amazing bathrooms. The addition of a washing machine was a very nice bonus. We honestly couldn't fault the luxurious space with its big entertaining area and would likely stay here again! For our first time visiting Uluwatu this place has made a great impression on us.

Only a few minor things. The location is good, not far from the main strip, but walking from the villa is not recommended as there is no sidewalk. There were some small maintenance and cleanliness issues but not enough to ruin our enjoyment of the place. A short power outage occurred during our stay but not the fault of the villa and seems to be par for the course in the area.

All that glitters….

Beautiful architecture and Design! It is indeed a marvel combination of Mediterranean meets Balinese sea-side villa charm. Manager Ketut and staff were so helpful and always made a great effort / showed up when assistance was needed. Netflix compatible TV Clean and trendy kitchen amenities/ fully equipped kitchen and best of all, filtered water cooler. Washing machine, nice large mirrors throughout the space ,beautiful pool area. I found the deckchairs comfortable and sturdy just throw a towel over it. Was easy to call and navigate uluwatu via taxis from the location. Great water pressure, and the villa always had hot water.

So I thought really hard about saying the following because this villa is pretty and the staff really showed up for me when I asked and always tried to help. But in the end I have decided to share the truth of my experience as it’s not fair or honest to just give a perfect review when my stay was far from perfect. And this was down to the lack of care taken with the standard of the amenities provided. I arrived to this villa and was greeted with stained sheets, pillows with an off odour/ stains, dirty towels and not properly cleaned toilets that appeared superficially clean but smelled of urine. Further to this- the build quality of the interior doors is not good as none of them are able to properly close and worst of all- the sliding doors tracks are broken so they swing freely from the top . There are no seals at the top of bottom of these exterior doors so I was plagued by giant wasps and large insects infiltrating the villa easily every night. I had not one single good nights sleep of the 4 nights that I stayed there and it really affected me poorly and ruined my stay as I had no energy and felt drained while on excursions or activities. The staff responded to my complaints re the linens and towels but every time they were changed - they were not dirty as the initial ones provided- but they were still stained, old and in ragged condition. This isn’t good enough as it’s just human decency to provide a paying guest with hygienic and good condition sheets and pillows. The beautiful white sofa is badly stained and hasn’t been properly maintained/ cleaned- looks good standing back but up close it is badly worn and stained. I am highlighting this because I want something to change- please invest in new fresh towels and linens for your paying guests and repair the sliding doors / add seals during the construction of your villas.

Will be back again - was perfect

Property was very clean and staff were super accommodating. The location was a little remote but ultimately it was super easy to get a grab. Some comments before we came said it was hard to find but it wasn’t difficult to find. Staff allowed us to put up balloons and decor for someone’s birthday which was brilliant.

We used the Dreamland by Young Villas as our base in Uluwatu. The villa's were excellent and special mention to Ketut for all of his help during our stay. The villa's were clean and spacious. We would highly recommend and will use again when we return.

We absolutely LOVED our stay at the Dreamland Villas. Would highly recommend - it was beautiful inside, the pictures are just as seen (even better!), clean, bright, fantastic facilities. Ketut was the most wonderful and welcoming house manager - he was consistently checking in to see if there was anything we needed. He also helped organise in house massages (would HIGHLY recommend Sri for in house massage - she was better than Spring Spa…) the ease of having someone come to the villas and being in the comfort of your own place was just what we loved! We can’t wait to come back again, we wished we had been able to stay longer. Thank you again Ketut and the Young Villa team 🙌🏽

Fabulous Villa!

My friends overheard a private phone conversation while out front waiting for a taxi of what we guess would be the owner, speaking down to a staff member about something she was dissatisfied with. The staff are so wonderful and attentive and I’d hate to think they are not treated as beautifully as they deserve!

Beautiful villa, peaceful vibes, and the kindest staff — made my Bali trip one to remember.

I stayed here for 3 nights and honestly, the villa was beautiful and peaceful. What I really appreciated was how responsive the staff were — on the first night, the electricity tripped but they came to fix it within minutes. On the second day, water went out, and again they responded fast. But the most unforgettable moment was during checkout — my Gocar was delayed due to traffic, and Pak Ketut + his team personally helped carry our 2 big luggages on motorbikes to the next villa (2km away) — in the rain! And they stayed until we finished checking in. Super kind, super helpful. 10/10 for service.

Our stay at The Dreamland by Young Villas was excelent. The villa is exactly what you’d hope for in Uluwatu—modern, peaceful, and beautifully designed with an effortless mix of comfort and style. The staff were fantastic—friendly, professional, and always happy to help with anything we needed, from transport to recommendations. Everything was clean and well-maintained throughout our stay.

The address on google maps I dont think is accurate - every time we booked grabs or ordered food the drivers got confused/lost. May need to double check the pickup/drop off location before you book a grab/order food each time.

The place was one of the best places I've stayed in. It's exactly like I hoped from the pictures, if not, even bigger. It was clean, cool, and felt tucked away and quiet.

Nothing! It was great - it was a little difficult to find on Grab which made some of our journeys a bit difficult, but not a negative about the villa. If you have a scooter, it's great.

the power kept going out up to 7 times a day for 3 days we had to manually go and turn the switch on each time outside of the villa. Contacted the hosts, they said they would send a technician out from BALI electric agency one bathroom had no hot water for 3 days - we again contacted host compnay to fix it.

One of the Worst Travel Experiences We’ve Ever Had — Avoid at All Costs

We had a week-long stay booked at this villa, hoping for a peaceful and relaxing family holiday with our three children. What we got instead was a completely unacceptable and frankly disgusting experience that forced us to cut our stay short. From the moment we arrived, things were off. The villa, while initially appearing clean, had hair strands left behind by cleaners throughout the space — not what you expect when paying for a premium stay. That alone was disappointing, but unfortunately, it was only the beginning. The first two nights were unbearable. The neighbouring villa hosted parties that went on from 1am to 4am, making it impossible for anyone — including our children — to get any sleep. Repeated complaints fell on deaf ears, and there seemed to be zero enforcement of noise policies or consideration for guests trying to rest. But the real nightmare? Rats. Not just in the vicinity — in our bed. Yes, you read that right. We discovered rats crawling through our main bed, prompting the staff to bring in large Balinese rat traps — while we were still staying there with three young children. We caught two huge rats. It was horrifying, unsanitary, and utterly traumatic for all of us. At that point, we had no choice but to leave. The management’s response to the situation was lackluster and failed to show the level of urgency or empathy a situation like this demands. This villa was a complete letdown and one of the most disturbing travel experiences we’ve had as a family. Do yourself a favor — avoid this place entirely. No one should have to endure what we went through.

Gorgeous, luxurious villa where you can enjoy privacy

Very beautiful, spacious, luxurious villa! Somehow the space makes you want to walk around naked, what brings a couple very close together 🍓 The beds are very comfy, we had amazing time. The staff is super nice, friendly and attentive. Villa is super clean, and the cleaning team does its work super fast.

Прекрасно отдохнули на вилле, вилла невероятная - Очень красивая вилла. Мебель, дизайн - все продумано до мелочей. Одна из самых фотогеничных локаций в принципе. Особенно на закате у бассейна открывается невероятный вид. На вилле есть все необходимое, особенно порадовала стиральная машина, гладильная доска и утюг - Расположение хорошее. Шума стройки нет, в принципе очень тихо, но при этом до кафе близко - 10 минут на байке - Невероятно отзывчивый и прекрасный персонал. Каждый день крутили нам прекрасные фигурки из полотенца, реагировали на все просьбы и вопросы оперативно. Очень благодарим вас за заботу - Классный спа, очень хороший массаж на виллу за небольшую цену

Fantastycznie! Napewno wrócimy!

Przepiękny obiekt - jest bardzo estetycznie a przy tym funkcjonalnie i po prostu dobrze się mieszka. Całość pobytu uzupełnia obsługa która jest absolutnie fenomenalna nawet jak na standardy na Bali które i tak już są wysokie - świetny kontakt z hostem, przez WhatsApp można wszystko załatwić. Villa sprzątana codziennie przez kilkuosobową ekipę (łącznie z basenem i mini ogródkiem dookoła) w związku z tym idzie to niesamowicie szybko i sprawnie.

Po Villi miejscami widać że nie została dopiero co otwarta ;) Mimo że jest bardzo czysto widać że pewne rzeczy się po prostu zużywają - np. ręczniki, pościel, silikony przy wannie czy klimatyzacja. Pewnie niedługo będzie wymagała drobnego remontu, ale nie jest to nic co by utrudniało pobyt.
