A relaxing stay in wonderful property

We found it hard to leave this beautiful, relaxing place. The property is amazing and had everything we could possibly need. Some very tasty goodies left for us too! It is spacious, comfortable and set in lovely grounds. Sharon was so welcoming and helpful.

we had a lovely, relaxing time, did some walking, had lots of lie ins, and got loads of reading in.

the cottage was lovely and quiet, as was the location, the facilities were very good with all the equipment in the cottage we needed and the pool etc in the grounds. The hosts had left a lovely welcome basket and fresh milk in the fridge, they didn't pester us but we on hand if we needed them. Loved watching the ducks come up the garden to have their feed and just how peaceful our stay was.

just a couple of tweaks and it would be excellent. We found the doors a bit tricky at times to open/c;lose. the extractor fan over the cooker did not work. Also in the bathroom, the mirror light did not work and the shower door had a tendency to open when you were in the shower which made the floor wet. Though we had to say that these were only minor things and on the whole we had a lovely and relaxing time, there were some lovely touches with the welcome basket, milk in the fridge, games available in the sitting room, our own outside seating and the great pool and outdoor games available in the gardens. The location was great and so quiet and relaxing, just what we were hoping for.

We definitely plan to return

Beautiful extensive grounds that can be enjoyed from numerous seating areas including private space for each cottage. The fabulous heated swimming pool can be booked so each cottage can enjoy time to themselves. Lots of outside activities suitable for all ages. It’s lovely waking up to the sound of birds and watching ducks wandering around the grounds. Very friendly owner who took time to meet us and show us round.

A walk-in shower would have been more convenient for us instead of one over the bath. The beds were comfortable but the duvets were a bit too heavy for the summer months.

it was lovely stay for a few days

i really liked the surroundings a lovely hideaway place with a decent swimming pool and grounds. The house had everything you could need the bedding was excellent and the bed extremely comfortable. The owners take great pride in the rooms and it was very nice

although it was dog friendly you weren't able to leave them and we wanted to be able to actually go out for a few hours and explore with out the dogs. Everything is so far away even just getting food etc was a long way away and the roads are all very much a back road drive nothing is local and we were unlucky the pub was shut the week we were there.

Spacious, welcoming cottages, with amazing private to use pool!

The Old Rectory is a wonderful place to stay. The property is so welcoming, as are the hosts. The pool, with a private booking system, was so enjoyable. It kept the kids entertained, with lots of floats and toys for common use. It was fantastic to pass time on rainy days especially. The garden is so well set up and there is lush greenery everywhere, plus with outdoor picnic tables and table tennis and a tree swing etc. You honestly have everything you need! The wildlife is a lovely addition with birds and ducks/geese wandering around. There is even a real log fire with logs provided! Sharron was such a lovely host, offering advice and helping out if we needed anything at all. We are sad to be saying goodbye! Thank you so much for an amazing holiday.

The house was very well stocked , very roomy , heating great and all facilities good including the beautiful heated pool which we used a lot . Excellent place for children with playgrounds, pool etc . Lovely pub around the corner with excellent food . You’ll need a car but the roads are easy once you find the main roads

Beautiful location with each cottage finished to a very high standard. Catered to our every need. Swimming pool was a hit with the children who also loved the ducks and ducklings. Thank you Sharron and Stuart for a perfect stay.

Quintessential wonder stay!

Everything - It was all so perfect! We loved meeting our host, and she was so accomodating. The cottages were fabulous in every way, and set in such beautiful surroundings. Having a swimming pool on site was such a luxury. The beds were extremely comfortable, the kitchens were very well equipped. We loved watching the ducks on the pond. The local people we met in the village were also very friendly.

It was self catering. We loved the buildings, the facilities, the ambience, the gardens, the pool, the games provided. The ducks, the squirrels, the ponds. It was a brilliant break and we were made to feel very welcome. This is a very special place.

Mooie accommodatie, rustig en gunstig gelegen.

We vonden het overdekte zwembad en de grote tuin geweldig. De cottage zelf was mooi, degelijk en zeer compleet ingericht. The Grove Inn in het schilderachtige dorpje is ook echt een aanrader. Verder lag het gunstig voor een bezoek aan de Exmoor, Exeter en een dagje strand. We hebben een topweek gehad!
