Great location
Very friendly helpful staff
Wanted to watch the England game and also the news on telly. The reception to the telly was so poor it would only come on after about 15mins then go off every few minutes. We was not able to watch any telly at all.
Bed mattress was so soft sank at the sides so you felt like you would fall out

This hotel had a great location. We were walking Offa’s Dyke and the hotel was right overlooking the castle. So we checked in and had time to visit the castle. The public areas of the hotel were lovely and there was a garden area which would be a great place to sit in warmer weather. Somebody has obviously put a lot of effort in to improving this hotel. Rooms had basic furniture but it was very comfortable and well presented. The breakfast was great and we loved that it was served early, as we wanted to start walking early
The only slight issue was the towels, they were really thin and one of ours was quite badly stained. I don’t know if maybe they are sent out to a laundry but I think ours needed replacing. However I do appreciate that the owner of this business has done a lot to improve it and this is perhaps just one thing they haven’t got round to yet

Excellent position and lovely staff. Room nice and cool.
Was expecting hotel facilities but this is a B&B. Suspect we read old reviews. Garden felt like a missed opportunity - some interesting plants but grass overgrown, furniture grubby and lots of fag ends on tables. Mattress lumpy and shower challenging.
