Valley View at Clauchan Holiday Cottages

The location is perfect - 5 mins from the main road and central for exploring much of Galloway. The cottage was spotlessly clean, in good condition and quiet and parking was very generous. For a single person there was enough space and the scenery around is beautiful.

Although the cottage was designed to maximise every inch of space the kitchen and bathroom still felt a bit cramped and awkward and I wasn't keen on negotiating the very steep stairs to get to the bathroom in the middle of the night. Putting the bathroom upstairs in the place of the second (tiny) bedroom and extending the kitchen area downstairs would have made it much more comfortable to be in. Also - and this is just personal taste - the cottage felt lacking in character with a large blank white wall in the living area downstairs. It called for a piece of artwork.

Very clean and comfortable. A great wee place for getting the head down before going out exploring.

Everything we needed for a couple of days; in a great location.

I loved the location of the property - in the peace of the fields and not far from the A75 to get about. It was very clean and had all the amenities you need.
