Caleta Beach House

Great location, really spacious, couldn’t fault it.

From the start, the communication was very good. We were already staying in Caleta and asked if we could collect the keys as early as possible. We met the cleaner at the property at 12. Reuben arrived soon after and gave us the keys. Our family then arrived later that day. (We are grandparents, and our daughter, her partner and our 2 grandchildren age 4 and 16 months) We had requested a travel cot for the little one( 2 were actually left made up, not sure why but as we didnt use one of the bedrooms, this wasnt an issue) There were plenty of towels, and the kitchen is fully equipped with plenty of crockery and cutlery. The villa overlooks the carpark, but this didnt impact our stay. ( As visitors every 6 weeks to Caleta we were aware of the location when we booked) Reuben was lovely and gave our grandson a football, which he played with everyday on the beach :) Overall the villa was ok. It needs a little bit of updating ( Particularly the external furniture) When We left we were considering booking again as a family for next year

The villa is quite old fashioned, but the beds were comfy enough. Im not a fan of shower curtains, which the house bathroom has, and also the shower in the master bedroom was strange ( over the bath but you had to kind of bend slightly once stood in the bath to shower.) There is no frosted glass in the bathroom so the "curtain" at the bathroom window had to be left closed all the time for privacy. The external furniture is quite "weathered" and the sunbeds on the roof didnt look very sturdy, so unfortunately we never went up onto the roof for this reason. The gate into the property locks for security, but unfortunately the gate to the drive way does not lock, so anyone can open that at any time. ( This could do with a lock to make the property fully secure) We had paid an extra £150 for the pool to be heated, but it wasnt as warm as we thought it might have been, so the little ones didnt stay in for very long at all ( Yes it was December, but the pool is quite small, so we assumed it would be warm enough for the children to play in all day.) We did ask if this could be looked into, but unfortunately didnt hear anything back. Also, please be aware of the grates around the wall on the patio. My Grandson stood on it and cut his foot open :( When we returned to the UK we received a message with a video saying that the travel cot was broken( It certainly wasnt broken when we left the property, and we never moved the cot!) and that the ceramic hob was all scratched ( Again not like that when we left!) It took a lot of communication from Our Daughter to resolve the issue and eventually the 200 euro security deposit was returned 8 days after returning home. This really upset us as we felt like we were not believed. Maybe a lesson from this would be for the agent to be present when the guests arrive and are leaving to walk through the property. We have holidayed in many villas.

Shower in the en-suite

Everything. Fantastic Location, spacious inside and out, great heated pool (slight extra cost), very clean, well equipped villa. Excellent host (Kelly) who was fully contactable for any reasons. Overall a fabulous week for 7 family members in a wonderful villa.
