Extremely relaxing and comfortable

Great position, just a short walk to the centre of Bath, with a handy Waitrose en route, this property is beautifully presented, while being homely and comfortable. The kitchen is incredibly well equipped from appliances to glass wear, which in my experience is rare. The hosts were lovely to deal with and left an excellent welcome pack

It's tiny, but a third towel per person would be nice, we received a bath towel and small guest towel each, hand towels big enough for hair would have been appreciated

100% recommend this very comfortable house in Bath

What can I say - this property exceeded our expectations. 5 of us stayed for a weekend to explore Bath and the Christmas market. It's a spacious townhouse over 4 floors - hallway at ground floor, kitchen / diner / terrace on the first floor, master with ensuite on the 2nd floor and two bedrooms and a bathroom on the top floor. It's beautifully decorated, and the Christmas tree and other decorations that had been put up were a lovely touch! As was the bottle of fizz, bread, milk and biscuits on arrival. The kitchen was very well stocked including a Ninja air fryer if you wanted to cook (and ovens and microwave). The beds were incredibly comfy (comfier than my own tbh!) and the bathrooms super modern with rainfall showers. It was nice to stay somewhere that you could comfortably hang out in, rather than feel forced to be out and about all the time. It felt like a home, rather than a holiday let. The views from the terrace are great too. Location is also spot on - a 10 minute walk into town, and you walk past a Waitrose each time for supplies. 100% recommend this place :)

The number of stairs would make the house not suitable for very young kids or those less mobile, but that is the only thing I can think of!

Absolutely everything was perfect! Alan & Revi are amazing hosts and wonderful to deal with. Every detail about the property and the comfort of your stay has been well thought out. Will definitely look to stay again when we’re back in Bath. We especially enjoyed the terrace and were even tempted across the road to the Bell Inn!

There aren’t enough words to describe this property it was beautiful and the hosts Alan & Ravi can’t do enough to make your stay wonderful, they even decorated the room for my daughter’s birthday. Would love to come back and stay here again

It’s is noisy do bring ear plugs as opposite one of the most popular pubs that plays live music also walls paper thin to next door.

The house had everything we needed and was a great location. A short walk into the city and some lovely shops and bars nearby.

Parking was a little hard to track down but a multi storey a little way down the road was fine once you found it.

Luxurious & spotless

We move around the country and have stayed in a variety of accommodation. We own rental ourselves so have an appreciation for the investment and effort that is involved in offering a property like Merchant House with such high standards. Alan and his partner do an exceptional job in providing the highest of luxury in accommodation in Bath city centre, a few minutes level walk. Anyone who has the opportunity to stay at the Old Merchant House will not be disappointed. The property is spacious and luxurious with a wonderful enclosed terrace off the living space/ kitchen which has a southerly aspect with views. Thank you Alan we enjoyed our stay very much indeed.
