A perfect stopover near the Caen ferry

A very warm welcome for this overnight stay, even though we arrived quite late off the ferry. A very large room with plenty of space for the extra bed for our son A nice big bathroom right next to the room with a good shower Very quiet location A lovely breakfast served the next day, accompanied by the owner's lovely cute little dog :-)

Great location and lovely hosts.

A fantastic location about 20 mins from Ouistreham Port. We stayed here over the D Day 81st anniversary due to its proximity to Pegasus Bridge, Ranville and the Merville Battery and we were not disappointed. Within easy reach by car of the eastern end of the DDay beaches and museums this was perfect. Located adjacent to the Sannerville drop zone we also drove to Bayeux to see the tapestry and Mont St Michel which was a little further (approx 2hrs) but easily achievable. The hosts were excellent and really lovely people. They spoke very little English however we managed to get by using Translate as well as some basic French phrases which we enjoyed as it was good practice. Breakfast was great and was flexible to our timings. The hosts were also keen to know what else we would have wanted for breakfast to suit our needs. WiFi was good as was the bedroom which had one double and one single bed which was perfect for me and my daughter. The room was clean and the bathroom and shower facilities were good. Parking was just down the road approx 25m and there was always a space free. Thank you. We will visit again!

Disappointing

The location was fine. I think it is fair to say that we caught the hosts out as they had forgotten we had booked and were entertaining friends. The room was large, but we could see dust. We were on the top floor with a bedroom opposite and a bathroom between us and the other bedroom. We assumed that we had to share what appeared to be a communal bathroom, but it turned out that we were in fact the only people to use the bathroom. It would have been helpful to have had this explained to us. (I do speak french). The Wifi code was written by hand and we spent 20 minutes trying different permutations before we had to go and ask for help. It turned out that the password had been superseded by another completely different one for quite some time. The breakfast was very disappointing. I expect a croissant each and a baguette as a minimum. I know this involves a trip to the bakery. What we were offered was a selection of yoghurts and 2 different types of defrosted bread with 3 jams. Elsewhere we have been offered honey, cheese, cold meat, and fruit (though not all of them in one place) on top of a croissant each and baguette. The chocolate drink was rather mean in terms of the hot milk supplied. We probably would have been given more hot milk if we had asked, but at this point we had given up on our hosts It was difficult for me to avoid the conclusion that the hosts thought they could get away with little work and even less expense. They were polite. We concluded that the hosts had a spare room and thought " we have a spare room, all we have to do is pop a kettle in here and we can make money" We would not return, which is the ultimate definition of a stay. In their defence they were having a party with friends when we arrived so clearly were not thinking of us as much as their friends.

Lovely experience in our short stay at Champagne

Great Bed, decor, Wi-Fi , facilities in general, location was perfect for our route. Delicious breakfast. Hosts were friendly flexible and helpful and made us feel like at home as well

Bien situé et hôtes bienveillants

Super emplacement, au milieu de tout (Caen, cabourg, Ouistrehama, Merville…) mais dans une résidence très calme. Petit déjeuner de qualité et avec beaucoup de choix. Hôtes très accueillants et bienveillants avec toujours des conseils pour nos excursions.

Herzlichkeit und Gastfreundschaft ohne Mangel

Die Gastgeber sind sehr nett,freundlich und informativ. Französisch Kenntnisse dind ein grosses Plus. Garten und Veranda sind ein Traum. Waren zu früh da,Birnen noch nicht reif. Ein Glas Wein zum Abendessen (Picknick) wirde uns angeboten und das Frühstück ist nicht 08/15.

Keine Reklamation nur ein Hinweis: Dusche Badewanne ist etwas unpraktisch da sehr schmaler Wannenboden.
