Boutique Hotel Maravilla - Marbella

A relaxing 3 night stay at the end of summer to recharge before heading back to work. What a spectacular home converted into a beautiful boutique hotel located within a quiet gated community. The view is incredible. The day of our arrival the view of Gibraltar and its Moroccan counterpart were clearly visible making for a spectacular sunset. Ours was comfortable, spacious room opening onto the main terrace, but separate enough to be private. The pool was wonderful for a tranquil afternoon swim with reading and relaxing poolside afterwards. We enjoyed a wonderful breakfast on the porch each morning. Inga’s friendly assistant in the kitchen was quite attentive and accommodating with small special requests. Inga was an excellent, cheerful, and friendly host. She sent detailed instructions (including a short video) to make our arrival effortless. She responded to messages promptly and was most helpful in suggesting interesting places to visit and good restaurants, too. The village of Benahavís is a short 15 minute drive away and well worth a visit for hiking as well as restaurants.

This is a good place if you have your own car and plan to be out most of the day - it's like an air bob .... with restrictive staff availability and very basic accommodation availability - I literally had to climb over the gate on departure as there was no staff to open the gate for me and I was asked to leave the keys inside the room - I am the sort of person who wants freedom and not restrictive access to any place - specially if I want to depart from somewhere.

I think I am just used to luxury and therefore checked out the next morning to move ot a 5 start hotel in Marbella. so not for me.
