Well equipped comfortable accommodation with a lovely ensuite bathroom to the bedroom area, peaceful with beautiful views and a nice touch providing complimentary Welsh cakes, milk and a bottle of a refreshing fruit drink. Excellent WiFi connection provided and a useful information folder. Would recommend.
The bed was comfortable but slightly creaky. As we were travelling with a young playful dog who would have tried to escape and play with dogs in the neighboring cottages or the sheep at the property we were unable to keep the main door open to allow air in especially during sunny warm weather, the only opening window being in the bedroom. Therefore property got very warm downstairs without a window to open.

The Old Cart House was very well equipped, clean and tidy. Beautiful views over the water.
Unfortunately the road wasn't fully open due to storm damage. Work now almost finished. This didn't stop us from having a great time.

The location is great and the view of the lake is just like the photo! As the road around is flat it makes a long walk less taxing, that's if they have opened the road! Property was clean and tidy with most of what you need. As it's pretty much in the middle of nowhere it makes for great star-gazing on a clear night as there is pretty much zero light pollution!!
Right here we go! The bed, hmm this was not comfortable in any way, ok the mattress is firm but it's not a memory foam type (if it is then accept my apologies as I didn't check!) the bed frame needs work as well (no it wasn't during anything other than sleeping!) I ended up with a back ache so not pleased on that point. The Wi-Fi, that's a joke, when I ran a speed test it came back with slow and as the TV seems to be connected to this then watching a film is dire. There appears to be a booster box on the table but if it's doing anything who knows! It appears that the owner has opted for entry level internet in this case. Usual cooking stuff all ok but why is it that the salt & pepper are pretty much empty?? Getting hot water out of the kitchen tap is a tedious affair as a long wait whilst it clears it's air locks and then gets to the washing up bowl can be glacial. As a tradie I have to comment on some points: The shower screen has been installed wrong with the sliding part near the mixer valve, if you (we didn't) have a electrical issue then I take it you will be either calling the house keeper or banging on the adjoining property as I assume that the CU is there?? (if it was under the stairs then I missed it!). Last but not least I was disappointed that Sykes were involved with the letting as I have had dealings with them before that were never resolved.

Everything was clean and adequate. Nothing looked tired and we had everything we needed for a 2 night break
