Old Cart House

The location is great and the view of the lake is just like the photo! As the road around is flat it makes a long walk less taxing, that's if they have opened the road! Property was clean and tidy with most of what you need. As it's pretty much in the middle of nowhere it makes for great star-gazing on a clear night as there is pretty much zero light pollution!!

Right here we go! The bed, hmm this was not comfortable in any way, ok the mattress is firm but it's not a memory foam type (if it is then accept my apologies as I didn't check!) the bed frame needs work as well (no it wasn't during anything other than sleeping!) I ended up with a back ache so not pleased on that point. The Wi-Fi, that's a joke, when I ran a speed test it came back with slow and as the TV seems to be connected to this then watching a film is dire. There appears to be a booster box on the table but if it's doing anything who knows! It appears that the owner has opted for entry level internet in this case. Usual cooking stuff all ok but why is it that the salt & pepper are pretty much empty?? Getting hot water out of the kitchen tap is a tedious affair as a long wait whilst it clears it's air locks and then gets to the washing up bowl can be glacial. As a tradie I have to comment on some points: The shower screen has been installed wrong with the sliding part near the mixer valve, if you (we didn't) have a electrical issue then I take it you will be either calling the house keeper or banging on the adjoining property as I assume that the CU is there?? (if it was under the stairs then I missed it!). Last but not least I was disappointed that Sykes were involved with the letting as I have had dealings with them before that were never resolved.

Everything was clean and adequate. Nothing looked tired and we had everything we needed for a 2 night break

Old cart house is a wonderful place to stay. It's cosy, peaceful and has breathtaking lake views. We had absolutely everything we needed there, great kitchen, comfy sofa, wonderful bedroom and bathroom. We loved sitting out taking in the views. We would highly recommend taking binoculars! There is a sitting bench and a table bench for eating out too. There is an information book with all the details you'll need, where the nearest shop is, pubs and walks ect, very helpful. We would recommend taking some food / snacks as the nearest shop is a drive away. We absolutely loved the location, the lake is beautiful and there are plenty of walks. Highly recommend and would love to come back.

The view was beyond expectation. Cottage was fully equipped and cosy. Complementary wine, milk and Welch cakes were a nice touch too. Could not complain about anything - Mandy was particularly helpful ... Will book again! Ps Price was great too

Really lovely cottage with amazing views. We loved our stay here. It was cosy and had everything you need as well as great walks around the lake.

No internet but that likely can't be helped considering the remote location! We did get some 4g though.

Beautiful location with views on the Lake Vyrnwy, very clean and comfortable. It was a very relaxing place with amazing views, and comfy with all the necessary amenities.
