Appliances include an electric oven and hob, microwave, fridge/freezer, and a Smart TV. There is a double bedroom serviced by an en-suite shower room. Outside there is a courtyard with gravelled area with seating, along with off-road parking for one car. Within 2.8 miles, you will find a shop, and within 7.2 miles, a pub. Please note, this property welcomes three well-behaved dogs, but is non-smoking. WiFi, fuel, power, bed linen, and towels are all included in the rent. Town: This pleasant village lies in the beautiful Tanat Valley at the foot of the Berwyn Mountains, only 4 miles from one of the Seven Wonders of Wales - the magnificent Pistyll Rhaeadr (240 ft high waterfall). Llanrhaeadr-ym-Mochnant was the location for the successful film, The Englishman Who Went Up A Hill But Came Down A Mountain, and more recently the film Nativity 2 starring David Tennant. The village boasts two general stores, a newsagent, a Post Office, a butchers, three pubs, a café, a fish and chip shop, and an Indian takeaway. I’ve stayed a number of times at the Old Carthouse, it’s my first choice place to stay in North/nearly mid wales , great place to watch off , enjoy the walks from the location and the view too, plenty of day out places to visit, but at the same time you’re avoiding the crowds

The property, hosts, surrounding area, wildlife, peacefulness, things to do, views, coffee at Blas y Llyn in the village was outstanding. We saw nesting swallows, house martins, jays, owls, a hare, sheep, wagtails, pied flycatchers and that was just at the property!The walks were really easy to locate and took us directly to the lake from the property. We walked to amazing waterfalls which were not too far away and parking was mainly free although the main village car park was just 2 for 2 hours (4 for 4 hours) and this goes to the RSPB, really happy to have paid for this stunning location. You can hire boats and bikes to cycle the 11 miles around the lake or you can take a leisurely walk around the arboretum right next to the RSPB car park. The property was easy to find, spotlessly clean and had everything you would need to cook dinners every night. There were 2 TVs but quite honestly we never turned them on as the view through the patio doors of the lake was viewing enough. Highly recommend staying at The Old Cart House in Lake Vernwy.

I was very impressed with my accommodation it was just what I wanted , great location, and had everything you need when self catering , with so many little touches, a bottle of wine and milk in the fridge, tea an coffee in the cupboard, washing up liquid and all the right wast bags. Packets of soap in the bathroom with a very modern rain shower un plenty of hot water. I couldn’t fault the place , best value for money any where I’ve stayed in North wales, with a view of Lake Vyrnwy too.
