Lovely comfortable stay, missed early morning braekfast

I was a little disappointed the new owners have scrapped breakfast. The house is a guest house, not a B&B. The room has en suite, and tv. Everything is secure and very clean. If all you require is a bed for the night at a budget rate. Don't forget to leave time get breakfast elsewhere though

Consider putting breakfast back on the menu. The house is a little way out of the way, guess a mile to amenities.

Unprofessional and disappointing

Location

Unprofessional and disappointing. Our group was unfairly stereotyped as potentially noisy and offered cancellation at 20.30 when we requested for 21.00 check in which is in the option at booking.com. Towels are damp, worn out and ripping apart at the seams. Overall an unpleasant experience.

The attention to detail from the hosts begins with the information they send through about arrival/checking in and flows through to how well the rooms are presented and how every detail has been considered- from having enough sockets to a providing a fridge for guest use! What a find!

A bit out of town ( about a mile ) but lovely views to countrytside and sea. Amazing room - super clean - super modern - super decor and fresh crisp bedding on comfy mattress - bathroom modern and spotless - loads of tea/coffee/milks/sugars etc

Beautiful family-owned guest house

The hosts, Peter and Kerry, are so nice. The room I was in was a very small room. But it didn't bother me. In fact, it was more cosy. For the price I paid, it was so clean and comfortable, and 10/10 would recommend.

Clean comfotable room in a guest house that's geared to the needs of the guests.

Impala isn't a hotel it's a guest house, so I wasn't expecting uniformed staff and a 24 hour reception desk, and wasn't surprised when check-in is set up to happen via an emailed code for the door. But I've never stayed anywhere that's been so set up for the comfort of the guests. There is a huge larder fridge downstairs marked for the use of guests, so convenient. And although there are quite a few nice eateries in Wick, if you want a takeaway then there are plates and cutlery in the dining room so you're not sitting on the edge of your bed eating with your fingers. The wifi was fast and free, the bed was large and extremely comfortable and I slept very well. I was sad to be only stopping one night, I will definitely be back.

Impala Guest House Cosy Stay

I had a warm welcome when I arrived. The room was warm, cosy and secure. I had the single room, the bed was super comfortable with high quality bedding. Tea and coffee was supplied. It was a 20 minute walk into town either via the streets or along the front. Wick is a nice town with walks, restaurants and pubs. Off street parking was also a benefit!

It is worth noting that the shower door opens outwards not leaving a huge amount of room if the bedroom door is shut. I also wasn't aware that breakfast isn't available at the moment. This did not impact my stay but may make a difference to others.

Heating was an issue. It wasn’t switched on until requested and then didn’t work. Finally started but went off during the night. Not comfortable for international visitors who are not used to cold weather

Peace and quiet. Hosts, lovely. The room was perfect. 15 minute. walk from the town centre and supermarket. Coast was a very short walk away. Coastal views from the room. Self contained dining room with fridge and microwave.

Does what it says on the tin

We liked the fact it was a self check in via a keypad pin, so there was no rush to get there. It was clean, comfortable and in a quiet suburb. There's a good shower and plenty of soap and towels.. Everything worked properly (TV & kettle)

Toilet was a little cramped in the shower room. But I'm a bit of a bloater anyway 😉

It would have been nice to have somewhere to sit in the room. Although there is a dining room, which I hadn’t been aware of until the next morning. The info is in the wee folder on the chest of drawers though.
