Galata Greenland Hotel

All staff members were very nice and friendly. Communication before the trip was smooth, and everything was arranged easily. Check-in was also done smoothly. The room was clean and spacious. Room service was quick. On arrival, the mini fridge wasn't working, and we were quickly provided with another one. Anything else we requested was delivered as well. The breakfast buffet is good, though a bit more variety would always be a welcome upgrade. One good thing about the breakfast was the terrace. Even though the view was rather limited, it was really pleasant to have breakfast in the nice, early morning weather! If you're looking for a nice, affordable hotel in the center of Istanbul and within walking distance to many sites, Istiklal Cd. and Taksim Sq., but also away from all the tourist noise and crowd, Galata Greenland is good choice, specifically at their price range.

The hotel is located close to Galata Tower, so the alley leading to it is uphill. Not the hotel's fault, but keep this in mind if you're traveling with children or seniors. Another issue is that the water in the shower went cold a few times. Not a huge problem, cause it only happened very early in the morning.

Noisy room you can hear people talking in the room next to you and in the corridor. My room was quite cold, it doesn't have central heating only air conditioner which didn't do good job had to stay under the blanket..
