Grand Galata Hotel & Spa

Very clean and spacious room. Breakfast very nice and staff are very welcoming and friendly. Location is right next to Galata tower. Hilal, Elif Yopiz and Oye were very attentive staff and welcoming us. Thank you all.

Our sea view wasn’t very good and window cannot be opened fully.

Great hotel, fantastic staff

Rooms were larger than average with plenty of storage. Good sized balcony with a view of Galata Tower. Great rooftop restaurant with a panoramic view of the city and very good food. Great staff, particular thanks to Hilal, Sabri, Ozge, and Ozkan, as well as the front door staff.

Our room was right next to the elevator lobby and had a lot of noise from the hallway.

The hotel is in a good location, a short walk to good restaurants and the galata tower. Breakfast in the rooftop restaurant was lovely, staff generally helpful and beds very comfortable. The pool (which was only open on the morning we left) was lovely, just a shame we only got to use it once.

Our airport taxi transfer did not arrive and there was a lot of confusion trying to sort it out which was not fun with a tired 6 year old. Turns out they booked one car for two collections and the driver took the other people. We waited 45 mins to actually get in a car to the hotel (should have just jumped in a local taxi!). After quite a battle the hotel manager waived the cost of the taxi. We ordered our own uber on the return trip! The other issue was that the pool was closed for the majority of our stay without any advance warning. This was the main reason I booked the hotel as my daughter loves to swim, When we arrived late on Thursday we were told it was closed but would open on Friday morning at 10am, it didn’t. Then we were told Saturday at 10am, still not open. Then 2pm, then 4pm, then 10am Sunday. Very frustrating and we only got one 20 min swim as had to leave to catch our flight. No compensation of any kind offered. Seems like we had a run of bad luck!
