Oyado Kyoto Shinmachi

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Room 401. Instructions were crystal clear, and the apartment was very clean, comfortable, and well-equipped with everything we needed. The customer support team went above and beyond for us when we arrived early and were extremely accommodating, friendly, and quick to reply throughout our stay. Another great plus: the apartment is located right across from a delicious grill restaurant that I highly recommend trying!

The location is a bit further from Kyoto Station and main attractions/temples, so it requires a bit more walking. However, walking is already a big part of any trip to Japan anyway, so it was definitely not a problem!

It was very modern with great facilities. It was in a quiet neighbourhood and within walking distance from the subway station as we were walking.

The digital footprint necessary to enter the property felt overwhelming. Not only did we need to scan all of our passports but to record our physical face and voice on the ipad before we could enter the room felt more like an interrogation than a place to stay.

Very lovely, comfortable, spacious and calm place. The location was also very good (near metro station and facilities)

Good location of walking distance to things. the bathroom was spacious

Lots to mention here unfortunately. the room is large but a lot of space is wasted in a long corridor. the balcony is filthy and is unused and unusable, it overlooks the local gravel sports field. the gravel field was used most nights under floodnights we were there for firemen practice until 9pm or sports. the room ventilation was poor, and the air con unit shines a torch out of it and rattles at 40+db if you need to cool it. the bed mattresses were uncomfortable and lumpy cheap coil spring mattresses and there was a large range of led lights in the bedroom, some flashing, that made sleeping even less possible this was all at odds with other reviews, so we were quite surprised. the microwave to heat food is located in the fire escape stairwell. we stayed in room 201. I could go on unfortunately. We do not recommend.
