Architect-designed, artful & elegant, a very special property in a perfect location on Long Pond.
You cannot find a more beautiful setting or elegant designer home than this one--overlooking Long Pond in a very private wooded shorefront location, the ambience and special feeling of this place defies description. New construction in the style of classic Scandinavian desgin (owned by a family of architects and artists), the wall of glass facing the lake and extensive use of wood and art glass, plus a huge double-sided wood-burning bluestone fireplace creates a more-than-comfortable open plan living area, with an upscale kitchen featuring granite counter tops, stainless steel appliances, an eat-at island and dining area. Two sleeping/sitting lofts with single beds and double futons flank the living area (accessible only via ship's ladders, for the nimble and careful only--use at your own risk). Two large water-view bedrooms (one king and one queen), each with full bath, also flank the living area, providing separation and privacy when desired.
The real star of this show house, though, is the huge deck overlooking pristine Long Pond and the hills of Acadia on the far shore, with filtered light though the pines and breezes almost all the time--the kind of place where you doze in the dappled sunlight and sparkling refections off the water and forget the rest of the world. Then, a visit to the dock, a plunge into the cool water and...wake up!
