About this house rental
First time offering of newly renovated seaside farmhouse on the waterfront. Modern farmhouse vibe with 5 bedrooms, open concept culinary kitchen/living room with a west facing wall of windows overlooking Bass Harbor. First floor includes a game room and just finished screened in porch with dining for eight and views of the fire-side seating area, gravel beach with kayak access and fantastic sunsets. Two fully redone bathrooms with oversized walk in showers.
This legendary Bass Harbor farmhouse - built in 1896 and among the historic homes of Tremont and Bass Harbor - has been amazingly updated to include:
- complete first floor renovation
- open-plan culinary kitchen with living & dining areas
- excellent gas fireplace (no schlepping firewood!)
- new first floor bedroom with new queen bed and new fold-out couch
- fully renovated bathroom with tiled walk-in shower
- screened-in porch with dining table for 6-8 people and seating area with full view of the lawn, beach, harbor and outdoor fireside seating spot for six plus.
The Farmhouse is all yours. Note the site is shared with a small beach cottage that may (or may not) be occupied during your rental. If it is rented, we request and expect neighbor-guests to be cordial and respectful of each others' privacy, comings and goings, and presence at the location. [It vary well may be us with our queen-bee Corgi whose name is Minnie.]
We will be in constant touch if needed. We will also have personnel available to help you with on-site issues should they arise.
We want you to have the best time ever in our newly renovated old house. We are thrilled to have it and to look forward to sharing it with you and our own families. Please treat it like your own while you are here, and be sure to "leave without a trace" or "a touch better than how you found it."

Like staying at my Grandma’s house in all the best ways. Clean, well-equipped, obviously well-loved. Perfect location if the quiet side is your vibe. Not modernized ( as owner is very clear about) but we were very comfortable. WiFi works well, cell was ok. It is close to road but noise did not bother us. Be prepared with long leashes if you have a dog.
