The best site so far on our roadtrip - but horrible thing of a registration (read review)

A perfect location for a summer evening! (It was cold in October, so we could use the outdoor place, which is gorgeous!). A small but cool hut at the river, A/C for heating, even a smallest kitchen to warm a soup or cafe. All in wood. parking Nextdoor. very quiet. Really a positive surprise!

not the owners fault, but worth mentioning: In Montenegro, you have to register at the tourist office (or may be police) every night you stay in the country. And you have to go there to physically present your passport (and pay one (!) € per day and person. This is very bad, as I dont want to spend my holiday time in a city with many cars and no parking spaces. We chose via river to not be in the city, which was perfect. But we had to go to a place we really didn't want! This rule is totally against the tourism, should be done digitally by the owners of apartments!

Lovely cabin just out of the city, calm surroundings!

Accommodation is very unique and provides everything you need, even cooking facilities in the cabin. Nice sitting area outside the cabin and a little cat that we grew quite fond of when we were there. Nice proximity to the city.

Beware of the mosquitoes - definitely take some bug repellent! But other than that no downsides

A very welcome start to our trip in Montenegro

Great location and lovely people. You have a view on the lake and a big terrace, great so close to the city. They even shared some local cuisine with us, and we were allowed to use the kayaks at the lake

Our host was really kind and caring. The accommodation was clean, comfortable and calm. Nice environment, in front of a beautiful river. We even had canoes available for free to enjoy it, as well as a beautiful terrasse near the river. Thank you for everything!

Beautiful Place

The fella who greeted us was a really top bloke. Such a beautiful spot on the edge of the city. For a small little cabin it had everything you needed. The free use of the kayaks and the complimentary homemade wine was a class touch. We will be back. Hvala!

Peaceful and relaxing close to town. Great hosts.

Via river was relaxing and peaceful after the craziness of Budva. The hosts were so accommodating and even drove us to the bus station the next morning. The bed was comfortable and the outdoor area is perfect to eat or chill out. Great spot, close to town.

A magical place that truly feels like home

This is hands down the best place I’ve ever stayed. Everything was spotlessly clean — even the bathroom had a faint scent of chlorine, which, as someone who tends to be anxious, was oddly comforting and reassuring. The cabin itself smells incredible — a mix of natural wood and something warm and nostalgic, almost like a childhood memory. The bed and linens were not only perfectly clean but also very comfortable. I was initially worried that a wooden cabin in nature might attract insects (which I’m deeply afraid of), but to my surprise, I didn’t see a single one — no spiders, no ants, no mosquitoes, not even a cobweb. I looked closely! The atmosphere is something truly special: the sound of the nearby river, the trees, the mountains, the calmness and privacy — all this, just a short drive from Podgorica! The host was kind, thoughtful, and genuinely a pleasure to talk to. It felt like he truly cared about our experience. There’s a lot of uncertainty in the future, but one thing my husband and I are sure of — we will definitely be coming back here again and again.

Cozy cabin surrounded by nature

Just a beautiful location in a quiet area not far from Podgorica. There are canoes, which were fun to use. We even had a bit of a cold plunge dip. The cabin is really cozy with all the essentials. We wished we could have stayed longer. There is a restaurant nearby called Stefanos, which was one of the most delicious meals we've had in the Balkans.

We loved this small cottage. It had everything we needed and more. There are kayaks you can use, and place to chill out. Everything was great and the owner was very nice! :) it’s also close to city center.

Wonderful Via River cozy cabin

Beautiful surroundings. Cozy cabin with a bathroom and a small kitchenette. Great WiFi. There are two cabins, but you still have privacy and your own little yard and a veranda to enjoy the beautiful view over the river that is so bluish green in color. The owner is very helpful with everything you need. We wanted a bonfire and they got one for us. We used the kayaks. Be extra careful going down the stairs onto the dock as it's very wobbly only. Overall everything is great! Great location. Great restaurants and bars nearby. Historical sites. Beach nearby with a jumping tower. Picnic area. We will definitely return! Thank you, Via River!

It's a good quite natural place.

The place is so special, actually. It's out of the city, just two little houses on the territory, mostly you and nature. The river nearby is so slow and meditative. The Internet is working quite okay for such a far place. :) The host is kind and polite. You can take your tea or breakfast outside and just sit and look at the river, that's cool.

Mosquitoes and other insects. Just so many of them, omg. It's really far from everything. :) You need a car to go there, that's for sure. The house is so-so small, the shower too. You don't have anything there, just the bed. :)

Nice, simple and calm

It is a nice cabin in the woods, clean, in a great location by the river. The place was quiet and the view of the beatiful, calm river being the first thing you see once you wake up is just priceless. Between the cabin and the river, there is a yard with a hammock, a wooden table and some long chairs to chill. The host was nice and polite , he also gave us fruits from his garden Bonus: as the cabin is located in a humid place, the host even had left anti-mosquito device and tablets in case we needed it

Not having a car might make it difficult to reach from the city. tip: The copy-paste location from Booking at first got us to another place. We only had to make a 5 minutes detour but if you ask the host for a google maps pin, you can skip the forth and back

Amazing little cabin 🏞️

Literally everything. The host came to get us at the nearby restaurant. He was extremely helpful with everything and got us a taxi to airport for a normal price. The place is super cute, cabin is small, but has everything you need. It is very comfortable and the AC works perfect. Nature around is just beautiful

The cabin is comfortable and clean. It is situated on the beautiful Zeta River just a few kilometres from Podgorica. It was quiet and cool - beating the Podgorica heat!

Mooie locatie aan de rivier. Badkamer liet te wensen over.

Contact verliep erg goed met de vader van de host, ondanks dat hij geen Engels sprak. Hij heeft de kayaks voor ons schoongemaakt en wees ons nog op de zwemvesten. Lekker plekje in de schaduw met goede ligstoelen. Uitgebreide parkeergelegenheid.

De stroming in de rivier is behoorlijk sterk dus het kayakken was zwaar. Het huisje zelf is schattig maar de badkamer rook onwijs naar riool en je kon de douche nergens aan ophangen. Ook was er geen douchegordijn waardoor alles kletsnat werd. Er hingen geen horren voor de ramen maar er zaten wel kiertjes her en der, waardoor we zijn lek geprikt door de muggen.

De ontvangst, de vriendelijkheid en de behulpzaamheid van de eigenaar waren echt super! Hji heeft ons ook veel tips gegeven over wanneer we waar moetsen zijn om de schitterende zondsodergang te zien, en waar we een restaurant konden vinden.

Helemaal niks, echt waar! Alles was echt perfect, zelfs beter dan gehoopt. Prachtig daar vlak naast de rivier, kajaks ter beschikking, heel leuk om een stukje te gaan varen daar.
