Excellent provision of amenities. Perfect, seamless check-in, check-out process. We enjoyed the aesthetic of the tatami mats and the indoor/outdoor zen gardens, as well as very helpful English instructions for everything.
It was a little bit stressful/overwhelming in terms of noise management as we had a 4 year old and felt like we had to suppress her and whisper for our whole stay (there was a lot of signs saying please be quiet)

The convenience of the location, the convenience of having a washing machine. We are not accustomed to the steep inclined Japanese style stairs to upper floor. That would be much easier for younger people to climb. The mattresses were quite thin so we guessed that would be the traditional Japanese way of sleeping on the floor

The hosts were exceptionally responsive. Two bathrooms were very nice for our group of 5. Great location, once you figure out how to get there. Beautiful Toji Temple and convenient Toji Station nearby. Highly recommend Tanto izikaya nearby for dinner.
Suggest a fold up drying rack for post clothes-washing but there are plenty of hangers and hooks for this purpose, also.
