Lecco Hostel & Rooms

Breakfast was modest, no hot food, just toppings for sandwiches.

The shower cabin is very small, I can't imagine how much bigger a person could fit in there.

Perhaps, one can say it could be located better, closer to the downtown, yet still, the hostel is perfectly furnished, has well-maintained yard, spacious rooms and lobby, coworking area is there, and I’d like to come back here for a short workation amid such opportunities they offer here. Tasty breakfast is just another sweet point.

Location is convenient, design is nice and modern, rooms are very spacious and well equipped. Breakfast was good - a good mix of typical italian breakfast, cereal/oats and a some ham and cheese. Warm beverages straight from the bar.

THere was a misunderstanding with staff before my arrival which almost led me to not taking pad lock. Luckily enough I took it anyways and was right to do so, because otherwise even hotel staff said that they don't sell those... I bet nothing would have happened for one night and I could easily get one from the supermarket nearby, but still not a pleasant start.

The receptionist are nice, smiley and well-prepared. I got placed into a 4-bed room instead of a 6-bed one. Safety is okay, there are plenty of room in the storage to pack your bags, there is one drawer below the beds and one big cabinet with hangers - very great. Though worth to mention that the locks are not great - you could open the cabinets without unlocking the lock, so rather would recommend using a key-lock than a numeric one (I have one from Decathlon). The breakfast is nice, they don’t care what you place on your tray, you can grab some packaged stuff to go.:)

It started like the hostel got hacked on booking.com and they did not care much to do with the lost money I have now… The hostel is very far from the centre, 15 minutes walk uphills - there is nothing close to it, the closest store is 12 minutes walk (not the way to the centre). The rooms are very hot, no AC, not even a fan, and no nets on the windows so that every bug and their mother could come inside. You could hear the kids screaming and jumping in the trampoline until around 10-11pm every day, and one night there was a private party outside the restaurant until 2am and even with closed windows it was impossible to sleep or rest. And without opening the windows you have no air… At first it seems like the restaurant is for the guests of the hostel - but literally everyone comes there, I was expecting no kids in a hostel and they were running around everywhere, very disturbing when someone just wants to rest. The door is hell - you can hear it open very loudly not just your door but the other rooms, too. The beds are comfortable, the shower is a little small but okay. They clean it everyday, staff is nice (though one of them tried to hit on me…). The hostel doesn’t organize events for the guests (there is one on Wednesday I think but that is very random), no social life or place to be in the lounge - it is rather a coworking space for people coming here. For 1-2 nights it is bearable but if you’re looking to rest and to socialize then it is a no.
