Garden Cottage - 3 Bedroom Close to Town and Beach

Nothing to dislike

The welcome pack provided was very informative and the recommendations given were correct. Access to Virgin media was a nice touch. The abundant supply of hot water made for relaxing baths. Lovely garden and plenty of seating area outdoors - nice calming atmosphere.

The holiday home was too personal - it felt intrusive being there, almost as if we was house sitting. Personal photos, books, letters, calendars, religious artefacts need to be removed or kept out of sight - there was even a pair of earrings left on the fireplace. It was a lovely touch to say we could use all condiments - however some were out of date by at least a year. The smallest bedroom bed’s slats no longer fit and keep coming loose when you lie down so not fit for purpose, pillows in all rooms need replacing and the whole property needs refreshing to charge the price that it is. Sofas and dining chairs are not comfy, and not enough seating areas in the lounge for 5 guests. Wifi was poor, and we would suggest that the title needs changing for ‘close to town and beach’ as it is a drive away - not walking distance. We only found out on arrival that the private parking would not be big enough for our car, so albeit still free it was on a Main Street - and the steep driveway is not appropriate for those with mobility issues. We suggest that the fact the railway is overhead needs adding to description, as it detracts from the ‘peaceful’ element. In summary, we think the whole concept needs reevaluating to whether this is a holiday home (I.E depersonalised) or it needs to be made clear it is a house rental.
