Little Harries Cottage - surrounded by open fields

We had a lovely stay at Little Harries and would definitely recommend it. The accommodation was very clean and comfortable. It was ideally located for exploring Ripon and the surrounding area including Knaresborough and Harrogate. The peaceful setting was particularly lovely, while still being close enough to Ripon and all the local attractions.

Perfect location ,easy walk into Ripon centre.

Spacious house with comfortable beds. Well equipped kitchen. 15-20min walk to Ripon and 2 hr parking permit available at the house. The best feature is the setting. Our 7 year old was enchanted by the horses at the bottom of the large garden, delighted with picking blackberries from the garden bushes, spotting rabbits in the field next door and swallows overhead flying to the barns. Great excitement also at seeing the combine harvester in action in the fields at the end of Little Harries Lane. Very good communication with the owners.

Difficult to close the curtains if you're not tall, as you have to coax the fabric over the lip of the expansion poles on the curtain rails. While the treats in the Welcome Basket are a lovely thought, personally I would have preferred the generousity to be directed towards 2-3 extra dishwasher tablets, more than 1 bin bag (2 more were promptly provided when I asked) and 1 teatowel for a 10 day stay self catering isn't very realistic, but perhaps these were an oversight for our stay. Minor irritations aside, we enjoyed our stay in Ripon and would recommend Little Harries Cottage!

Nice location surrounded by countryside, easy access to the Dales & surrounding countryside, good parking. Property was well equipped.

When we arrived the boiler was not working & the heating was not on. We were unable to contact the owners for a few hours as calls went to answerphone & there was no response. The boiler was repaired by a plumber the next day.
