Ubud Diary Villa

The villa was huge! Filtered water available in hot and cold, beautiful large size pool and the staff can organise in house massages, also free transport to and from a lovely restaurant.

No coffee or tea available in villa, breakfast is average, and it's a bit out of the way

The villa was excellent with 2 large rooms on either sides with bathrooms and the living room & kitchen in the middle. The swimming pool was quite large but we didn’t use it as the water is always polluted in Bali. Breakfast was really nice and the staff very extremely helpful. Villa located in a good farm area location.

Personally, we didnt like a few things. We had booked the villa for 7 nights but we had to check out after 5 nights. It so happened, that due to farm area, there were large gecko's that would come inside the rooms and make very large sounds in the night. My daughter got very scared and could not sleep all night. One day the staff caught one large gecko from above the cupboard inside the twin bedroom. Another day, there was another large gecko in the same place in the bedroom. So we decide to check out and go and stay in another room. Unfortunately, the villa didn’t give us any refund, but gave us a complimentary grab car trip to the other hotel. Few other minor issues, like the bathrooms were not enclosed, no roof on the top, which means someone could see you having a shower from another building besides or if someone is on the tree they can view inside the bathrooms. The villa was situated very far from the main reception area, and we had to walk all the way to the end to get the villa in the dark. Doors were not closing properly (had to struggle to close doors).

Big space perfect for families or group of friends.

The bedding was old, lots of holes & not checked properly we found tissue & someone’s paper wrist band. The light in the bathroom never turned off so it was mosquito heaven, but no plug in sprays etc. The breakfast was awful, I had one day poached eggs on toast, bread was rock solid, eggs were cold. Next day I opted for pastries; again rock solid & hard and inedible. Location is ok would recommend the Ubud arts & craft centre you can do jewellery making very reasonably priced.
