Mat Old Town Apartments B

The location is absolutely fantastic. You are right in the Old Town, with restaurants, cafés, shops and everything you might need just a few minutes away on foot, yet once you enter the apartment you have your own comfortable little space to come back to. The apartment was spacious, clean and very practical for a longer stay. We especially appreciated the fully equipped kitchen, washing machine, air conditioning, balcony, plenty of storage space, and all the small things that make travelling easier, such as an iron, ironing board and clothes drying rack. The two-level layout also gives the apartment much more character and space than a typical holiday room. But the person who really deserves a special mention is Stella. She is genuinely one of those hosts you remember after the trip is over. Extremely kind, warm, available and helpful, but never intrusive. There is so much natural kindness in the way she communicates and takes care of her guests. You never feel like you are simply another reservation on a calendar. You feel welcomed and cared for. Thank you, Stella, for your kindness and for making our stay in Rethymno even more beautiful. 💛

The only thing to keep in mind if you are travelling by car is parking. Because the apartment is located in the Old Town, you cannot expect convenient parking directly in front of the property. There is, however, a pay parking option nearby, so once you know where to leave the car it is manageable. For us, this was a very small compromise considering how good the location is.

The apartment is really at the center of old town and close to everywhere. You can walk to the bus stop, great beaches, restaurants etc. Also the houseowner is so helpful with everything and taking care of even the little inconviniences right away. We had a 2-week-long stay there and felt like home! Plus, the apartment was super clean when we arrived, the floor was shining.

Since it is an apartment in old town, the problems with electricity needed better care than the usual.
