Blu Macel Hotel & Suites -Old City Sultanahmet

Absolutely beautiful room. Staff were super helpful and food was generous and inviting.

Dining area was a bit hot but the weather was unseasonable so it would be difficult to keep it cool.

Place is very clean, staff is excellent and the breakfast spread is amazing. There was a little treat every night in our room .

Be prepared to walk uphill to get to tram station and the drivers are absolutely not respectful This has nothing to do with property but just some advise

The staff were terrific. After the hustle and bustle of downtown Istanbul they were available but not in your face. Gentle but efficient and friendly.

An elevator would have made this a 10.

An acceptable, mid-range hotel close to the major tourist sites but in a tacky area. The shower included a Turkish hamam, which was the one nice touch.

The Booking listing made this look like a luxury, boutique hotel. It is not. There is no lobby -- just a small desk with a chair and a laptop in a dark hallway. Breakfast was fine but not great. Our room was advertised as a "suite," which it most certainly was not -- this was just false advertising. Not even a particularly large room. The mattress was extremely soft. Hard to control the heat. Cats were screeching outside the windows in the middle of the night. It wasn't horrible, but I certainly would never return.
