Coimbra Premium Downtown

Location was perfect, a 5min walk to the main shopping touristic area of Coimbra, at the base of the hill that leads to the main attractions (Coimbra University and surrounding area), and a short walk to the river. The hosts offer a paid parking spot underneath the building, which was extremely convenient for 15 euros a day. The instructions are very clear and easy to follow, and they also sent us recommendations of what to do and see in the city. The apartment is a studio with a very nice size, a huge window with great view of Coimbra's hill with the university at the top. It is stocked with the essentials.

L appartamento e’ veramente bellissimo, colori bellissimi e piccoli dettagli e soprammobili deliziosi. Lavatrice molto utile, bel bagno, bella sala. Tutto lo spazio necessario, noi eravamo in 2 ed era perfetto. Letto non grandissimo ma molto accogliente. Aria condizionata silenziosa, vetrate bellissime. Posizione vicina al centro, senza muovere l auto si arriva ovunque. Silenziosissimo di notte!!

Frigorifero rumoroso durante la notte e casa poco attrezzata per cucinare, manca per esempio uno scola pasta o una padella più ampia.

The apartment is comfortable, fairly quiet (although there is a construction site directly opposite), the air con works well and it was good to have a washing machine after a week of travel. The host was responsive to messages. We liked the location, walking distance to the old centre but not right in the tourist scrum.

When picking up the keys, look for the only box with a large silver dial on it, at the bottom row of letterboxes. All the other boxes have a letter or number but not this one. Also don’t believe Google Maps when trying to find the parking. The entrance to the carpark is in the small street to the side of the building, not on the main road as indicated by Google Maps if you punch in the apartment address. Use the street name the host gives you. Apartment has minor maintenance requirements, but no show stoppers.

The location is just a short walk to the old town.

Door knob was falling, pillows worn out, cheap and thin blankets, sagging mattress, plus the glass windows are terribly dusty and in dire need of cleaning from the outside.
