6 Berth Dog Friendly Caravan In Hunstanton, Minutes From The Beach Ref 13013L

It was a decent sized Caravan, it had a shower, which was separate from the toilet, which was what I was looking for. 3 bedrooms which I wanted. A deck at the side with proper steps. Tables & chairs on the deck so we could sit outside.

It was a long way from anywhere like, the amusements, shops, restaurants. It might be 100 feet from the beach, but it was a tiny site, you couldn't really get much farther out from the town, Heacham might have been closer, so we couldn't actually leave the car & walk anywhere. If I had realized exactly where it was I would not have booked it. I did a quick postcode check which put it on the Searles Caravan park, which is where I wanted to be, in truth. As the girls were looking forward to the evening entertainment, to being near a pool. which wasn't actually apparent until after I had paid, at which point I was then unable to cancel as I would have lost the full amount I paid, which was over £400, then when checking other caravans I found many with the same things I wanted were actually cheaper. The site was not even as big as the diagram of the setup. There was barely enough room to get my car between the decking & the next caravan, in fact I had to let the girls out before I parked up as there was not enough room to open both sets of doors. It says Pet friendly, but you couldn't leave the doors open as the gate catch was broken, & I actually stepped on part of it as I walked up to the steps. I am glad we didn't take any of our dogs with us. Inside, there was no Internet, in fact that was true of most of Hunstanton inside or out. That was the first thing that upset the younger girls. The oven was more rust than paint, there was a sign saying that the oven was difficult to light, so if it didn't light with the spark button there was a lighter/sparker in the draw opposite. That wasn't a great start. There was a fridge freezer which at first I was pleased about, but that quickly changed when I got into bed on the first night. The noise from the fridge sounded like a steam train going past but it was constant for what seemed like an hour then it stopped, I thought what a relief, but ten minutes later it started up again.

Perfect base for our long weekend trip to explore Hunstanton and the North Norfolk Coast. Conveniently located not far from Hunstanton Centre, close to the beach - just across the road and up the steps up the embankment. The park is small and quiet - much quieter than its larger neighbour.

It wasn't a problem but the exterior landscaping is not existing - the caravans are parked on a large gravel drive. Since we didn't spent much time around the caravan and it wasn't the season to sit outside this didn't matter to us. The advantage obviously is one can park right next to the caravan. The boiler was fairly noisy at night. So we struggled a bit with keeping the caravan warm without having too much noise to sleep.

We needed to stay cheaply for a couple of nights and this suited us fine. It is well used and carpets and sofa a bit aged but the heating worked and the bathroom and kitchen were clean so that was fine for us.
