Hostel Muborak

Location wise it is located pretty nearby to most of the places of interest in Samarkand. Shower was clean and dry however the toilet paper waste bin had not been changed or emptied for three days during my stay. There is no kitchen facilities when I need hot water I just asked the host who was willingly boiling the water for me. Even though my stay was pretty decent I must say that the single room I stayed was too basic.Just beds and small cupboards.It would be good if some simple amenities such as hangers,bin or chair are provided.

The owner was friendly! and they have a small mini mart as part of the hostel building which is really convenient. The bed was comfortable, and bathroom and shower was clean at all times. The wifi was really good too. The location was average, it was about a 15 minute walk to Shah I Zinda and 20 to Registan. At night, it was through some dark streets but I always felt safe! It worked for my preference but keep it in mind :)

The room did stay cool despite higher temperatures but there was no AC in mine! so not sure how it would fare in summer

The mom working there was so kind. I didn’t have proper shoes and was only wearing Crocs. When she learned that I was going to Tajikistan, she kindly offered me trekking boots. We ended up leaving after checking in, and got a full refund. Positives: It was clean. Hosts were onsite and we were able to talk to them. Good locaton. Secure car parking. We got a refund.

Booked a private room, meant to have a double bed amd a single bed - this was a converted dorm room, where they built a wall in the middle, but didn't move the aircon in the middle. Instead there's a hole in the wall and the aircon is split between the two rooms. Its cold in winter, and we had no control over the aircon, as the other room had the remote. The hole also means you can hear everything between the rooms, and see the lights. Not very private. Room also didn't have a double, only a single bed and a bunk bed. We asked to change rooms and we were told no, its ok, they check out tomorrow, then your room will be private. We expressed our unhappiness, and got a refund. But still felt misled by the room, and by the high reviews for this place, and had to find other accom last minute, so felt it necessary to leave this review.
