Excellent Stay At Bamboo Ubud Hostel

Meets my expectations of a spacious, clean, well ventilated, comfortable and well located hostel. The staff Hendi and Yoga were extremely friendly and helpful. It is very good value for money.

Would have given it a 10 if not for the following: Needs to rent a towel, no kitchen and shower gel provided.

Central location Complete value for money Plenty of places within walking distance. I had only one afternoon in Ubud and I am happy that i stayed here and explored whatever could be done in an afternoon

Great for solo short trip, clean, affordable price, and good value

Attentive staff that makes a great effort on cleaning, every hours. Breakfast included and menu changes daily. Tea and coffee for free too. Nice and cool in the room all the time. Mini fridge that you can keep your drinks cold. Amazing location for any trips or tour you may plan. I will definately come back in the future

Wifi connection is a big issue. Water dispenser is a bit old and water tastes like top water.

Bamboo Ubud Hostel is a great Hostel. The bunkbeds have curtains for privacy, lots of sockets, the Wifi is good (I work online and was able to do my videocalls without problems). There is free water and hot water all the time. (Bring your teabags/coffee powder if you want a hot beverage outside of breakfast time!). The shower is hot, bathroom is clean. The hostel team is doing an amazing job, especially Nick and Hendi are lovely guys, absolutely helpful and great staff! I really enjoyed the daily breakfast, too, and their smiling faces from morning until evening made me feel very welcome. :-)

From my perspective, there are only two points to consider: The dorm is nice and quiet with A/C :-) But the common area is super noisy because it is open towards the street and there is always traffic. So bring noise cancelling headphones if you have some. (Oh, and of course, mosquitos can come into the common area as it's open, don't forget your mosquito repellent.) And: I had a few questions about my stay before I came to Ubud and sent 2 emails to the staff. None of them were answered - They probably didn't come through. I sent them through Booking.com One was about the airport shuttle that's mentioned when I booked the bed. One was about the common area and if it offers a quiet place to work. I then simply took a Grab taxi from the airport to the Hostel at my arrival.

Excellent & Convenient stay

The enthusiasm of the staff especially Yoga. He’s very welcoming, polite and he explained everything very well. Nick & his brother were approachable and helpful too. Location is also perfect as it’s located at the Art Market and near to other attractions like Ubud Palace & Monkey Forest. The room is comfortable and bathroom is neat & clean. Staff are cleaning the place regularly. Highly recommended hostel in Ubud! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I really liked the location, you can easily walk everywhere and the market is just around the corner. Free Breakfast and the staff were amazing and just lovely people!

For me it was not an issue but maybe to keep in mind when booking the hostel: the bathrooms are not separated by gender and are just hidden by a curtain at the end of the room. So in the room you’ll probably hear what’s going on 🙃 but water pressure is good and water is hot 🙂 also even though outside it’s super noisy, inside the room it is really quiet 😉

Favourite hostel in Bali!!

I absolutely loved everything about this hostel! They not only have the cleanest accommodation (which they deep clean every single day for two hours!!) but also the most lovable staff. The guys were so helpful during my stay and they offer several activities. The free breakfast is amazing as well. It‘s been my second stay here already and I can promise you that the quality hasn’t decreased in any way! By far my favourite hostel in Bali!! Thanks to Nick, Yoga and their boss as well as all their other colleagues: you guys are great!

Comfortable stay in Ubud Center

- Really comfortable and intimate beds, with curtains on every sides - Sound proof room so you don’t hear the road - Good AC - Good free breakfast, simple but complete - Really clean room and bathrooms - Great location in Ubud center, making it easy to get around by walking

- No places to put your bags, so if all the 16 beds are occupied, the room could get quite full

It was very well located and still very quiet at night. The staff was very helpful and kind. The breakfast was the best I’ve had among all the places Ive stayed. Great AC. The restaurant downstairs has great food too. Love it and will be going back !

Kindest receptionist at hostel budget in the world!!!

Those 3 receptions, so so great, they were amazing hostel budget front officer that we've met so far. Their simple act of kindness and treated us in a good way, such a perfect hospitality. Kind, helpful and communicative. Served a simple but tasty breakfast, make yourself tea or coffee without limit, sat and relax in evening by downstairs live music, I had a good time. Location was just perfect near astina field in Central of Ubud, walkable to Ubud palace and traditional market.

It is simple but really good.

Bamboo Hostel is a great place to stay for those who like dorms and a simple but great and clean accommodation in Ubud. The breakfast is good. The staff is really friendly. The owner always tries to accommodate you and realizes your requests. From there you are close to the city center and the art market. Perfect location to walk around the streets!

It can be a bit noisy when the band is playing downstairs until 11 pm but I was not bothered by that.

A great, central place to stay.

- It's centrally located. A short walk to Ubud Palace (Balinese dances), market, Monkey Forest and other places of interest. A red Ubud Teman bus stop is nearby (You need to buy a card and top-up to use it). - Hostel and facilities are very good. - Owner and all staff are friendly and helpful.

Almost an ideal hostel

Friendly and helpful staff. Clean and cleaned daily, the staff cleans everything every morning. The included breakfast turned out to be a great addition, timesaver - tastes great and gets prepared freshly when you wake up! Free coffee, tea and water, plenty of room to sit, street view, live music every day. Restaurant is totally fine too!

Only thing I'd improve - the toilet and shower cabins aren't physically divided from the sleeping room. They're lockable cabins so you get your privacy fine, but you better not fart or the whole room will hear it :D Perhaps two separate layers of thick curtains to serve as a room divider would solve or at least minimize this.

Friendly, easy-going and pleasant stay!

The pancakes for breakfast were delicious and the staff there was so friendly and helpful. It is really central and the beds are comfortable.

If you are a light sleeper, the live music downstairs is playing until about 11pm. But you get used to it.

Ok hostel (I think not great) in the center of Ubud

The Internet connection is pretty good, which is important for remote workers like me. It is a good place to meet fellow travelers, as there is quite a bit of movement. The staff was friendly and the location is great. Breakfast was great too.

I am a bit surprised by the very high rating this hostel has, as there are honestly more comfortable or prettier accommodation options in Ubud for a similar price. Also, the dorms are just so-so, and at night I had to experience the very loud music at the bar below, well into the evening. Definitely an ok hostel in order to meet people, but not so much in order to relax : )
