Zesopheli guest house in Keda Agro & Eco tourism

I came to this place because i read the other reviews, and i definitely did not leave disappointed! I travel a lot and so i can confidently say that there are not many places like this one. The owner, his wife, and son, are all really hospitable and open and love interacting with the guests. The owner, who has the energy and vigor of someone in his 20’s, is extremely passionate about the place; it’s a real labor of love, and he will gladly show you around and explain anything you want to know about the many different and interesting crops that grow here. The highlight for me was watching them work with the bees and setting up new bee colonies. All the food is prepared and served from the farm to the table, the meals are huge, and you can pick and eat fresh crops from the field (i had fresh mulberries and strawberries). They even let me do laundry for free. The farm is set in a beautiful and tranquil agricultural village on steep slopes hundreds of meters above the valley floor. There are no cars, groceries, or shops, and there are trails leading into the jungle forests behind the village. On the practical side of things, to get here take a minibus from batumi to Keda and then a taxi (1 hour fifteen minutes). Or from Batumi to Khulo, and then if you get off at the junction the walk up is a 380 meter ascent, about 1.5 hours. Once you get to the center of the village, there are two easy to see signs to the guesthouse. Also, the coordinates given in the other review (41.6244299, 41.9641019) are accurate. In conclusion, this is an authentic homestay and one of the most unique places you can stay at in Georgia.

Wir wissen garnicht wo wir anfangen sollen, denn diese Unterkunft war so einzigartig und toll wie keine andere hier in Georgien! Zuerst wurden wir ganz herzlich von den beiden Gasteltern und der Oma empfangen - Es gab zur Begrüßung schon Kaffee und Tee sowie Snacks und Weintrauben. Dann wurde auch schon alles für uns möglich gemacht, von WLAN bis Mittagessen. Man fühlte sich direkt wohl und wie zuhause. Auch wenn wir mit Google Übersetzer uns unterhalten haben ging das wunderbar! Die beiden können kein Englisch aber dafür russisch und georgisch. Aber die Kommunikation war überhaupt garkein Problem. Jemel, der Gastvater hat uns sein ganzen Hof gezeigt - von seinen nachhaltig angebauten Lebensmitteln, bis hin zur Produktion von Chacha bis Tabak - Es war alles dabei. Das Essen wurde mit Liebe zubereitet - 3 Mahlzeiten. Gogoli hat alles richtig lecker gekocht und frisch aus dem Garten zubereitet - alles ist sehr gesund und kommt aus eigenen Anbau! Abends haben wir mit Jemel zusammen lange noch gelacht und uns unterhalten und den ein oder anderen Chacha und Wein getrunken - das wurde ein lustiger Abend zusammen! Die Lage ist einfach unbeschreiblich. Der Ausblick in die Berge ist einfach sehr schön und man kann sich gut erholen. Die Familie bietet also einen wirklich tollen Einblick in das georgische Leben. Jedem Gast sollte aber im Vorfeld klar sein, dass man mit der Familie zusammenlebt und es nicht so ist wie in einem Hotel oder in einem Restaurant. Abschliessend können wir nur sagen, dass uns sogar der Abschied richtig schwer gefallen ist und das wir beim nächsten Georgien Urlaub wiederkommen werden! Wir waren rundum zufrieden! 10 - for people who are enthusiastic about authentic Georgian countryside experience. You will live in the same house with the host. There are only basic necessities available. Don't expect anything fancy. If you order dinner almost everything served is produced by the host family at his farm.

Had trouble finding the exact location of this hotel. First I was mislead by maps.me. The coordinates are incorrect. Second by the local who's sent me to wrong direction. Following are correct coordinates: 41.6244299, 41.9641019

The most authentic taste of georgia I have had in 8 weeks in the country. It is a real homestay where you will be shown the grapes, honey bees, tobacco plants & homemade vodka distillation. Family hospitality was great with coffee and tea offered when I was in need after hiking. Dinner was excellent quality and value for money at 25 GEL including copious wine & Chacha. Breakfast was varied & delicious all days - notably last day with Adjarian dishes. The views are incredible from the farm.

It is at the top of the hill so be prepared to take a taxi (25-30 GEL from Keda) to reach it - or if you are happy hitchhiking up the hill from Zvare this is a good option for the travelling experience. If you have a car then that’s better obviously. It is a homestay - do not expect a hotel luxury, and if you want that then don’t stay here. Bathrooms are shared and it is basic. But this is all part of the experience!
