Looking for a Pup Friendly BEACH get-a-way Right in the middle of BOTH the ICWW and Atlantic that can fit your entire family so ALL can enjoy our painted beach sunrises and salty evening breezes? "The Salty Turtle" may be just the home away from home you are looking for! The home consists of 1800 sq ft of balconies, peek-a-boo views, and adventures galore! The home's prime location, included amenities and beach proximity will make spending your time beach-combing and sun-seeking an Ocean BREEZE!
"The Salty Turtle" is a three level 1900 sq ft Right duplex home that has something for everyone! The ground floor greets you with parking for 3, and outdoor entertainment area, and a storage area with a few beach accessories that our amazing owner has left to add your adventure! Ample space for a golf cart exists, as does a small yard in the rear if looking for some grass to go along with all of that sand!
Take the staircase to first floor which boasts two bedrooms (one with its own private balcony - #1 & #2), a guest bathroom (#1), and a private laundry. Every level has one or MULTIPLE large outdoor balconies, decks, and sitting areas with incredible local neighbor or peek-a-boo Atlantic ocean views.
The second floor boasts an open dining area, breakfast bar, kitchen, and living room. Peek-a-boo Atlantic views from the deck and canal views await those looking for a small reminder of what awaits right up the block! The half (#2) bath sits just past the end of the kitchen.
The third floor brings you up to a pair of master bedrooms (#3 & #4). Each has it's own private balcony with respective views, breezes, and vantage points of Pleasure Island. The unit's THREE (3) QUEEN and ONE (1) FULL + TWIN bunk consists of either a plush luxury mattress or a new encased 8” memory foam/cooling gel composition mattress because we want all of our guests to be comfortable when it comes time to recharge.
A few of the amenities provided by your Owners include courtesy large shampoo, conditioner, and shower gel left in the bathroom of each bath as well. Also, a roll of TP in each bathroom, 1 roll of PT in the kitchen, 2 garbage bags per garbage, laundry pods, dishwasher pods, dryer sheets, hand soap, dish soap, a sponge, coffee, tea, and pure cane sugar in each kitchen. Additional items are likely on sight as well!
The HOME: Guests have full access to their own private SUITE/HOME (never shared). The private drive, shower, and yard are also made available solely for our guests to enjoy on your adventure.
PARKING: Each reservation will have access to (3) THREE assigned off street parking spaces.
Outdoor storage closet access: Misc. BEACH items provided :)
•Closest BEACH access: Periwinkle Public Beach Access (Periwinkle Lane).
I will be available for check-in and general assistance until 8PM EST. Anything with the exception of an emergency (ie. flood, fire, or another *safety* related risk sent to Maintenance) will be responded to ASAP the following day :)
Pleasure Island is a coastal barrier island in Southeastern North Carolina, USA just south of the City of Wilmington. Pleasure Island is located within Federal Point Township, in New Hanover County. The coastal resort towns of Carolina Beach and Kure Beach, as well as the annexed communities of Wilmington Beach and Hanby Beach are located on the island.
The home itself is short ride or long walk from Downtown Carolina Beach with its shops, activities and dining. Pleasure Island (Carolina Beach, Kure Beach, and Fort Fisher) has become a RAPIDLY increasing vacation (and full-time!) destination for the East coast and beyond for many reasons. It’s a family-oriented beach with a touch of everything one might be looking for! It’s an AMAZING place to visit, live, and never leave!
The home is in the heart of Carolina Beach and walking distance to downtown and everything that is has to offer. In Carolina Beach you’ve got the boardwalk, restaurants, and local shops of all kinds. If you like adventures, the marina is also there where you can take an offshore fishing trip, diving excursion, or party boat out for a sunset sail. Camping more your thing? Bring the 4X4 and drive (and camp) on the beach at Freeman Park, located on the North End of the island.

Carolina Beach and the surrounding neighborhoods offer an array of sights and activities to enjoy while here. Some of these examples are (but not limited to) a subtle beach hike through Carolina Beach State Park, Fishing on the Kure Beach Pier, kayaking to one of the many islands surrounding the Intracoastal Waterway, watching canons blast during a historical reenactment at the Fort Fisher State Historic Site, or petting some Sting Rays at the North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher. This doesn’t even include the awing scenery of Airlie Gardens, and our very own battleship (USS NC) in Wilmington! Perhaps more relaxing and less “adventure” is your speed? Our own local Brewery (Good Hops) along with a round of Frisbee golf may be what the doctor ordered!
There isn’t anywhere or anything on our Island that isn’t accessible with foot power. Downtown Carolina Beach has a number of vendors (such as Pleasure Island Rentals @ 2 N Lake Park Blvd Carolina Beach NC 28428 (golf carts) and Tony Silvagni’s Surf School @ 107 Charlotte ave Carolina Beach NC 28428 (bicycles, paddleboards, surfboards, kayaks) for rent as an alternative to walking or driving. Taxi’s (local golf cart taxi’s) and Uber’s are also generally available for an assist when needed as well throughout the island!
After all, you won’t catch many locals going OTB! (Over The Bridge). Everything you need is right here!

Our partners include the Tony Silvagni Surf School for professional surf lessons, bicycle, umbrella and chair rentals, Hot Ticket Fishing Charters, Salty Dog Yoga, Amy’s Rise N Shine, and Griffin Cleaning and linens.

(Sheets, bath towels, wash cloths pillowcases, wash cloths, bathmats) ARE included as part of the rental here (excluding beach towels which can be rented through scrubandgo@griffinscleaning dot org. If requiring extra or non-included linens, please reach out to Griffin Cleaning Services who is a partner with SWRE and will assist in any way possible! Please make sure all linens are placed in the basket or hamper before your departure! Please let all BED LINENS on the beds remain on the beds for our TEAM to take care of! •The Town of Carolina Beach offers multiple public parking options to visitors and residents on a FIRST COME-FIRST SERVE basis. Town-operated parking is open year round and paid parking is enforced March 1st - October 31st from 9AM - 8PM. Parking fees restart each morning during enforcement hours for all of the Town's parking lots and on-street parking spaces.

GOLF CARTS
•To the county, golf carts are considered automobiles. Generally speaking, golf carts are NOT allowed on premises of ANY condo, condotel, or apartment. The same goes for trailers, motorcycles, etc. For SFR’s or properties supporting multiple vehicles, carts should be OK. However, be conscious that few homes have external outlets WITHOUT GFCI’S (which are code by today’s standards). Charging a cart on a GFCI will immediately trip the breaker, resulting in the inability to charge a cart amongst other repercussions. Gas carts will generally be the ideal rental option if in a home whose parking supports such.
•ALL suites are non-smoking (including vaping) and a heavy cleaning/repair charge can result if not adhered to. This includes porches, decks, balconies, and walkways.
•There is a $150 non-refundable pet fee for up to two pups. Cats are not allowed on premises.
•April 1st through September 30th, dogs are allowed on the Carolina Beach during restricted hours of BEFORE 9:00 am and AFTER 5:00 pm. On the extreme North End of Carolina Beach, dogs are allowed on leash 24/7 on leash. In Kure Beach, dogs are NOT allowed at any juncture. Fort Fisher allows dogs on leash on the beach 24/7.
Pup rules for Pet Friendly homes
•Any interactions between your furry son or daughter and other neighbors (animal OR human) are completely at your discretion (and *liability).
•Pups are NEVER allowed on any furniture. (*Single biggest added charge from the cleaners/owners post stay.)
•Do NOT let your pup bark excessively in any multi-unit environment.
•ALWAYS pick up after your pup IMMEDIATELY after the potty sesh.
•Please always consider TRAVEL INSURANCE from your respective booking site or vendor to help protect your costs in case of inclement weather or last-minute travel complications (court, illness, etc.). These items are NOT refundable scenarios unless the property itself is compromised. If that does happen, we will do our absolute best to find you alternative housing.

The house was very nice. The steps definitely gave my family and myself a work out three flights of stairs as to be expected on a three level house though. The dishes that were left for us to use by the owner was absolutely amazing by far the best accommodations in the kitchen of anywhere I’ve stayed, Baby gates at the top of the stairs was a great added necessity. the only thing that I noticed was the steps had not been vacuumed, and there was evidence of some water bugs and hair. But that is just the cleaning service not doing their job. The location of the house to the beach access is just a very short walk. The canal was just one house over with a little pier that you could watch the crabs, fish ,boats…so very nice. I would definitely recommend this property

This is a nice unit and kept very clean. There were a lot of things that made our stay more enjoyable. The big pantry to store our food, a lot of cooking utensils and dishes, bidets in all the toilets, tvs in all the bedrooms, motion sensor lights in the carport, comfy beds and a high chair for the baby. There were a few pieces of furniture that had a vintage country vibe that I adored!
There are a few things that could use some improvement. The washing machine sounded like it was way out of balance and made a lot of noise and the air conditioning didn’t quite cool the top floor off even though we had the thermostat set to 65. There were some things missing that were advertised in the listing and some things that didn’t work, but we didn’t want to spend all our time calling and waiting for someone to bring stuff to us or come to repair something.
Overall, we really enjoyed our stay!
