Le Villequier

Ons verblijf was een feestje. Francine heeft ons hartelijk ontvangen en tips gegeven over de omgeving. Het appartement is grappig en gerieflijk ingericht, en alles werkte naar behoren. De binnenplaats is een oase van rust en groen, en de bloeiende jasmijn geurde ons tegemoet. Op verschillende plekken zijn er zitjes ingericht. Zo ontmoetten we er een Canadees echtpaar waar we gezellig een glaasje wijn mee dronken. De boulangerie voor een baguette, een pain chocolat of croissants bevindt zich om de hoek, de bezienswaardigheden zoals de kathedraal en het Musee des Beaux arts op loopafstand. Een prachtstad en overal heerlijk eten. (dat is in Parijs wel anders) Kortom, een absolute aanrader.

Het enige minpuntje was dat we de auto in de parkeergarage kwijt moesten. Maar ach, die was 3 minuten lopen.

situated in a beautiful courtyard with a lovely kitchen, a comfortable bed and a spacious enough bathroom for a couple. The location as well is excellent as you are immediately in the historic centre of Rouen - handy to retreat to when the rain catches you off guard too!

The only thing is the kitchen sink tap is a bit weak and takes a long time to fill the kettle but that’s the only thing.

Charming apartment, homely vibe. Owner left us clear instructions (to access the room) / eateries recommendations.

Rather far from the gare. With 2 heavy luggage it was quite a distance to walk (15 mins). Old building. It has no lift, so lugging 25 kg each up 2 flights of stairs was painful. At the end of the stay we had to double up as the chamber maid and change the bedsheet and take out the thrash for the owner! We also couldn't leave / store the luggage, so no choice but to leave the city.
