Perfect location to local shops and pubs and a walk to the pier for the Aran island ferry. Windows were large and the views fantastic. John and Michelle were kind and friendly and gave great advice for our day’s activities.

This rental & location was brilliant for the Cliffs of Moher, and in fact gives you another side of them you're not likely to see unless you stay here. For my husband and I, we love to get outside of just the "tourist" areas, and this hit all the perfect notes! The room was better equipped than most hotels we've ever stayed at, and certainly more accommodating of our likes and standards (I'm also over 6'5" tall, so rooms also never come close to my needs) . The owners (John & Michelle) live in the "other half" of the building thats closed off, and the room we rented was a gorgeous, freshly renovated King suite, that had a separate entrance, keys, facilities and overall 100% easy access from all the other rooms- just like any other "hotel" you'd stay in. Our room overlooked the homeowner's backyard, and obviously, they had some kid toys and other playground items in the yard, but within feet behind them were the Irish hills seen in the pictures. We woke up and opened our blinds to find the gorgeous cows frolicking in the morning sun! We wished we had more than 1 night here and will absolutely be back! John & Michelle were so gracious and helped us with doing a late check-in, and then our baggage from the airlines had been lost for over 3 days and finally got delivered to our stay here before we made it, but John signed for it and even out the monstrosity sized bags in our rooms for us. Once we arrived, late, he knew we'd be tired and hungry and he quickly went through a walk-through and then gave us a suggestion of the last few pub/restaurants down the road that would likely still be serving food, and he was right- we went with his favorite pub & had the cottage pie and it was spectacular!
There is nothing... if anything, maybe the bathroom door (which is a heavy, solid door), nicely remodeled, maybe needs WD-40 on the handle hinge to reduce creaking. It's the only thing I could think of, and it's not even an issue...

Position
Lack of communication from the host. Not available for assistance and when they were which was rarely reluctant to assist and help with directions. eg didn’t want to store my perishables in their fridge. Assist me with ringing a taxi and as it turned out the taxi driver didn’t know what house theirs was . Two other people I met that day were driven by their hosts to the same ferry I caught. Another couple on the ferry had their lunch made by their host. This is my fourth visit to Doolin and I will not stay at this accommodation again and advise my colleagues the same. A little effort is all it takes.
