Avalon Beachfront - Kangaroo Island

The property was clean and very well organised. The kitchen had everything we needed to make lovely meals. The pantry had essential staples. The laundry had washing liquid however the washing machine was very loud when spinning and likely needs replacing. The lounge Marion could use another comfy lounge to replace the cane set as that was not very comfy for lazy on. The fireplace was a lovely addition, had enough wood for the 4 nights we were there. Bedding was comfy, perhaps some more blankets for the beds as the nights were cold. Having gas for hot water was a bonus. Always appreciate a nice hot shower at the end of the night! Ideally it would have been nice to have an additional 3 nights stay to really relax as our days were long trying to fit in all the wonderful kangaroo island sights. We covered most of the island except the centre. Fishing was exceptional off the beach, however no outside bench area to clean fish, perhaps that can be an addition in the future. A bonus was having 2 koalas in our backyard tree, how lovely and unexpected! Overall a lovey stay, property has everything that’s needed and communication was excellent by our host.

A very loud washing machine! Would benefit by having another lounge opposed to the cane setting for comfort at night time to enjoy a movie and wine. Small details that could add to the comfort.

De rustige omgeving en de vele dieren in de buurt. Er zaten twee Koala in de bomen in de achtertuin. Zo schattig. Elke ochtend wakker worden met fluitende vogels in de boom. S nachts een uil. Als je een wandeling maakt op de weg achter het strand zie je ook soms een koala in de boom, een echidna in de struiken en Walibi die wegschieten. De zee is meer een wad die droog valt bij laag water. Het heeft nog steeds last van algen als het warm is. Maar het is herstellende van een grote plaag vorig jaar. Je kunt er niet echt zwemmen. Maar het is er zo relaxed. De supermarkt is 13km verderop. En de keuken uitgebreid met vanalles in de kast. Thee koffie, kruiden, olie, azijn. Eerst in de kast kijken voordat je boodschappen gaat doen. Heerlijke bedden. Fijne handdoeken en douche.

Wasmachine had schimmel op het rubber. Misschien rubber vervangen. Achterste slaapkamer hor sloot niet aan dus muggen op bezoek. Toen van kamer gewisseld. Geen zonwering op het dek. Keukenweegschaal zou fijn zijn. We gingen zelf bakken namelijk.

The double bed in main bedroom was extremely uncomfortable Access to the house is via steps at the back - which meant we had to drag our suitcases on gravel to get there and then lift up the stairs Access to house via an unsealed road

The location was amazing in beautiful, peaceful Nepean Bay. The home was modern, spotless and so well appointed. Everyone agreed that the beds were comfortable. We had everything we needed. We had numerous koalas come to visit during our week long stay including mums and babies. We got to see Glossy Black Cockatoos in the backyard trees and from the balcony. Only 15 mins from Kingscote, it really was a home away from home.
