The only thing I would add is a clothes dryer

The location was the standout. Sitting on the deck looking at the water and hearing the sea at night was magical. Beautiful beach to walk along. The house was very comfortable and everything has been thought of. Well equipped kitchen. It felt like a lived in house, not something out of the AirBnB style manual! Beds are very comfortable. Being a 15 min drive to Kingscote makes a huge difference. The other towns on the main part of the island are very limited in supplies. Can recommend Vino e Cucina for dinner. Being so close to the wildlife (penguins and possums). Didn't want to leave.

Minor critique... The bathroom being downstairs when we were sleeping upstairs. However, there was a toilet upstairs. It wasn't a big deal. The holiday rentals on either side are very close but well screened and the residents were considerate. Car access onto the beach just below the house (nothing to do with the house but you need to watch out for traffic). It is difficult to understand how SA allows cars on the beaches particularly with all the wildlife.

The views and seclusion! We felt tucked away perched up on the hill. If you are going to stay in Emu Bay, this is the perfect spot.

We loved the property. The only feedback would be that the AC (split system) appeared to be on a timer and we needed to keep turning it back on from the wall switch. We wanted to keep the property cool during the high 30 degree heat whilst at the beach. The house did stay relatively cool and does have ceiling fans in most rooms but it would have been more comfortable keeping the bedrooms a bit cooler for sleeping at night. Maybe a day bed or a few sun loungers on that lovely big deck would be a nice touch so you can soak up the views or stars lying down.
