Good location, but very uncomfortable

We stayed at this property for a weekend in Cardiff while attending a concert on the Saturday evening. Due to the distance we were travelling, we decided to make a full weekend of it. In terms of location, it’s very convenient for Cardiff city centre and easy to access along the river. However, the surrounding area itself wasn’t great. We didn’t feel particularly safe leaving our car outside, and it definitely wasn’t somewhere we felt comfortable walking around at night — especially not alone. The property itself was just OK. It was reasonably clean and well equipped with kitchen utensils and bathroom toiletries. However, it was extremely uncomfortable for both sleeping and relaxing. The sofa wasn’t suitable for sitting back and relaxing, and the beds were very poor. Myself, my husband, and our friend all came home with bad backs after the stay, and the pillows were also very uncomfortable. The furnishings and décor felt very basic and cheap, which unfortunately reflected in the overall comfort. We were grateful it was only a two-night stay, as we would have struggled to stay longer due to how uncomfortable it was. That said, it is worth noting that the property was very reasonably priced for the size and location, especially compared to other accommodation available that weekend, which is ultimately why we chose it. However, the basic furnishings and lack of comfort did impact our overall experience.

Cleaning was poor. Smells a lot like cigarette!

The location is good. You can easily walk to the city center or to the pier. Parking is easy and free.

The smell of cigarettes was extreme. When we arrived, the windows were open. It was end of december so I think they were aware of the problem. And I do not think it was from the last guests. It is a old smell. The carpet is really old and has a lot of stains. The kitchen floor and utensils were very dirty. So the cleaning has to be improved. The house is a lot older and simpler than we thought but that would be no problem if the house was clean. I would not stay here with a baby or with a kid. We were with a baby and it was not comfortable.

Staircase to upstairs bedrooms was narrow and steep and, as two older ladies, we were not able to take our luggage up to our respective rooms. Luggage had to be left in the living area which was a little inconvenient. Bathroom was not as clean as we'd hoped. Matter was raised with owner immediately after our stay and has apparently now been rectified. Couldn't get internet to work or the TV. Contacted owner but not resolved prior to our departure.

A decent stay for a weekend

The flat had everything needed for a short stay with a fully equipped kitchen. The location is quiet and the accommodation easy to find with Lucies instructions. Plenty of space in the bedrooms with lots of storage, warm and toasty throughout and good parking on street.

The pans and oven were dirty with food left on them. We had to wash them along with the dishes and utensils before we could use them to cook. The oven had a very strong smell of garlic and the pans were covered in burnt food.

Great location, quiet residential area just a short walk from the city centre. Property is well equipped and clean. It’s definitely more a home from home, I’d be very happy to call this place home (probably the biggest compliment I could give)

If I had one very small criticism, and I feel it’s very petty considering how well the place is presented, but the tv sits on a cardboard box, which does go against the whole feel of the place (not an issue but maybe a suggestion to change that one wee thing)

Quiet location with good bus service

Great communication from host, lovely spacious clean apartment in a nice quiet area with good public transport links. It had everything I needed.

The only reason I gave 9 stars instead of 10 is I have a few mobility issues so found the double bed a bit too low and the single mattress on the twin beds a little bit thinner than I would have liked but this shouldn't be an issue for people without mobility issues.

It was great, Lucie is very communicative and helpful. On the 2nd day there was some work going on at the neighbours using the same house access which was bit of a hassle but otherwise it was perfect. The beds could be a little better, mattress especially. Overall, it was fantastic and on my list for preferred locations in Cardiff.

Mattress in double bed, some parts of the spring bit were just not good and causing discomfort.

Pleasant

Good residential location with a great park and community centre with cafe across the road. This was really great as the flat has no outdoor area and very small lounge. Easy walk into the city as well as a short walk to takeaway options and a small Tesco Express. The flat is modern and nicely furnished and the host is great with communication and helpful.

Nice little get away accommodation near to Bay.

Great communication with owner, lots of little touches to make our stay more comfortable. Very clean and fresh rooms. Very nice bathroom. Great location - about 20-30 mins walk to the bay. Easy to find and park up and found area surprisingly quiet at night, considering its proximity to main roads. Would definitely book again and thoroughly recommend.

Buena ubicación, buenas instalaciones en general, muy buena limpieza. Buena cocina.

Tuvimos problemas con el agua caliente y la calefacción. Lo solucionaron hacia la noche del primer día. A cambio, nos ofrecieron hacer check-out más tarde, aunque nos apuraron para salir. Asimismo, fue buena estadía. Eso sí, el sofá cama es muy incómodo.
